Sequels Maguire and Raimi returning for SM4, maybe 5 (back to back)

Well Dunst says she's "in" for S-M 4, which makes me think Sony contacted her recently and asked her if she'd like to return. I think Nikki Finke knows more about S-M 4 and 5 than Dunst and Raimi at this point, I'd love to see a follow-up/update to her S-M 4/5 article.

It could happen, but, tbh, I don't think anybody really knows alot about S-M4 at this point other than the things that have been released.

i don't get it,

if s-m3 was so good why is it taking so long for s-m4 to be made? with all the money it made,surely this movie should be way into production by now!! humm maybe the suits at sony heard all of us & other media outlets that stated s-m3 was a poorly executed movie & just maybe this franchise needs a new direction,not the same old,tired mess!!!!!!

IMO I'm glad Raimi and Maguire are back.. More so Tobey since he is the face of Spider-Man.. I have high hopes for Spidey 4. Esp if Vanderbilt is writing the movie.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, they need to pull a Bond on this franchise. And no, before anyone says it, I'm not talking about a remake like Casino Royale, just a different actor for the lead role.

Spiderman 4 (and/or Spiderman 5) definitely needs more development of Gwen..and Captain Stacey.
That's my thought.
 
^^ The last film was their introduction, which is why I can understand why they didn't have a ton of screentime. So, I really think they will have more screentime in S-M5 and S-M6.
 
Yeah, Captain Stacy needs to figure out the guy dating his daughter is Spider-Man, then get killed. Duh.

Side-note: if Gerard Butler gets casted as Kraven the Hunter (fingers crossed) he NEEDS to do a Sparta Kick right to Spidey's chest.

Scene:

Kraven fires wildly into an open crowd, with no regard for innocent bystanders, trying to shoot the escaping Lizard with his shotgun.

Spidey swings down in front of him and pushes his gun up right before another blast goes off.

Spider-Man: Are you crazy? This is insane!

Kraven: No....THIS. IS. THE HUNT! (Kicks Spidey in the stomach, hard.)

Spidey gets sent flying back, with a look of surprise and confusion coming through his mask and body language. He easily recovers in mid-air and lands perfectly, to jump right back and kick Kraven square in the chest, HARD. Kraven gets sent flying back twenty feet, he doesn't recover so easily...

Yeah. I know theyre probably trying to make Gwen = Mary Jane and Mary Jane = Gwen but I don't like that idea

Beacause she had absolutely NOTHING to do with Spider-man 3 in the first place. Its as if she was justed FORCED into Peter Parker's life simply because her name is 'Gwen stacy'.
Not only that but adding her will just be the same ol' love triangle thing between MJ-Peter-*insert whatever charecter here*....which I personally don't want to see. Peter and MJ have gone through enough bumps, I think the viewers get it....now let them get married or at least commit to themselves and move on with the STORY :up:

I understand what you're saying, because she was "forced" into Peter's life because she's Gwen Stacy. But so was Sandman, and Venom. The bottom line is, these characters haven't been in the franchise since Spider-Man 1, so to some people it's gonna seem like they're "forced" in, when in reality, it's the next movie and they want to bring in new characters we haven't seen before.

I disagree with what you say her potential as a character is. You're in the camp that wants to see Peter and MJ "get it over with already" and get married, whereas I'm one of the people that feel, especially after the way Spider-Man 3 ENDED, they need to break up, at least for a while. Enter Gwen Stacy. She was introduced in the last one, so it won't seem "forced" that she's in Spider-Man 4. Yeah, I don't want to see another Peter-MJ-Gwen love triangle, I want to see Pete and Gwen date for at least this movie and the next.

She's the exact opposite of MJ, and they NEED to play that to the fullest. There could be scenes showing Peter apologize for being late to a date (because he's Spider-Man and there was a "disturbance") and Gwen doesn't mind and forgives Peter the second he shows up. Pete's amazed at how cool she is about that, and he allows himself to be happy with her. Meanwhile MJ is moving her career forward, and dating either a more mature Flash Thompson again, or some other guy.

So Pete dates Gwen throughout the movie, but if/when Kraven the Hunter fights, drugs, and buries Spider-Man alive, the thing that gets Spidey to dig himself to the top of his grave is thinking about MJ's love for him. So therein lies the conflict; Peter still loves MJ, but he doesn't want to hurt Gwen, this amazing, nice girl. Especially after her father was killed and his last words were to Spider-Man: "Take care of her for me. Peter, take care of her." Ouch.

So it makes it all the more heartbreaking for Peter when Gwen dies in Spider-Man 5... AT THE HANDS OF THE GREEN GOBLIN, NORMAN OSBORN, BACK FROM THE DEAD!!! BUM-BUM-BUUUUUUUUUM!

No, but seriously, they should bring Norman back for that reason. And then everybody's happy, Spider-Man comic fans and general audiences. Done.
 
I was liking everything about your post...until you mentioned Green Goblin.
no resurrection, man...
let's give room for other villains in the sequels.
and other villains can kill her, even though I don't want her killed.
 
sentinel x, sorry i had to bring it up again!! finally saw eagle eye & wow,can i just say wow!!! the scene with turtle is priceless,you think tobey could pull that off?

anyway,no more corny story lines,can we get a serious,fun,spidey movie? not with sony or raimi involved,imo!!!

Goblins three times in five movies? Yawn. How redundant and boring. The Goblin storyline is done. Lets move on.

A spider-Man movie with Shia is not a serious, fun Spidey movie
