Major Season Ten Spoilers Thread!!!

Chloe has been one of the best additions to the show.. and DC knows this, they've even toy'd with dropping nods to her in the comics, not fully introduced yet, but it will happen.

And most Chloe haters sound like they just simply hate women. She's been no more pushy or bossy or "annoying" then the green arrow has. And at least her actions tend to make sense. Clark has messiah issues, and Chloe knows there's somethings she's gotta do on her own and that at times Clark's "i can save everything" mentality doesn't work.. she's there to clean up his mess. So do not even begin to complain about how pushy, manipulative or annoying Chloe is..

She's annoying because she doesn't listen to Clark when Clark IS right, and she just keeps pushing it when she's wrong.

Also, these are the years when Clark is supposed to do **** on his own, make mistakes and learn from it ON HIS OWN. This is why Superman doesn't have a sidekick. (I swear, if anyone makes a B&R comment, I'll kill them).

Chloe is the most annoying Smallville character and she should have stayed dead at the end of Season 3.

No.

Ummm when I brought up Chloe I didn't mean to bring it into a debate whether or not you like Chloe, " but more on the lines of should Chloe die Vs. should Chloe live. Which should be talked about in a "Major Season Ten Spoilers" forum.

I think Chloe should live but not be involved with Superman or Metropolis. If she wants to be the new Oracle, then fine. Just do it somewhere other than Smallville and Metropolis.

umm no... that spot clearly goes to Lana....

I just found this thread and its 21 pages long, so could someone give me the rundown of what we know about season 10? I havent been watching SV for some years now, but damn i love the New Gods and i want to see them, even if the show craps on them like it does on everything else.

Btw, i heard that Clark got the suit. WTF hasnt he worn it and why isnt he flying yet? I know they have this rule of theirs, but ****'s getting ridiculous! He is basically a veteran Superman who's faced almost all of his rogues gallery, but without the suit and flight. Damn this show sucks.

As for Chloe, i kinda liked her in the earlier seasons, but not anymore. If they re ever going to introduce her in the comics, she should just be one of Clark's friends in high school, and nothing more. She shouldnt be a Lois Lane copycat, she shouldnt be the goddamn Watchtower, she shouldnt learn Clark's secret.

I completely agree, what annoys me about her and Claire from Heroes as well is the writers insistence at making them important or special in some way when the audience could care less about them  Lana being important to Clark becoming Superman in Legion not to mention her superpowers in season 7's Wrath and season 8's Power.

Actually Chloe has taken the title of #1 most annoying person on Smallville while Lana is #2, and thats from someone who hates Lana. Spideyboy, you said "And most Chloe haters sound like they just simply hate women." Thats not true. Far from it. Chloe just has this ability about her that makes you hate her. Like has been said, she's manipulative, Pushy, Bossy, Egotistical. Chloe believes that she is a hero. But to be a hero you dont think of yourself as a hero. That's why Superman is Superman. Hawkman described what makes Clark Superman, a real hero. "Your not like the others are you Clark, kids that are in it for the thrills or because they have a chip on their shoulder. You don't do this for Glory or vengeance." Chloe's not a hero because she does what she does becuase she wants to fit in with Clark, she needs to feel needed. Clark, Bruce, Diana, Barry, Hal, etc... the best Heroes the DCU has to offer are considered to be the best at what they do, their considered the greatest because they dont look at themselves like saviors, or heroes, or some kind of messiah. They look at themselves like their just doing a job. Clark always says Superman is what he does, but Clark is who he is. Thats why Chloe is the most conceded, most annoying, arrogant person on this show.

LOL, yes, I hate women, ya got me! :whatever:

I NEVER said Clark was perfect, he clearly has faults that are addressed. It's part of what makes him "human." But he acknowledges his mistakes, his faults, and he APOLOGIZES (sometimes when he shouldn't even be apologizing) when he makes them. The only "apology" we got from Chloe were a couple extremely half-assed attempts that usually were followed by a "...but" and then an attack on whoever she was apologizing to. Wanna know why? Because her character is an extremely self righteous one. And Clark's "I can save everyone/everything" may not always end with rainbows and sunshine, but it's the attempt that we all applaud. Isn't that the reason we all love Superman? His willingness to attempt a character and moral save? His code of conduct and ethics? I'd feel more sympathetic towards Chloe if she would give a true, heartfelt apology and have AT LEAST one moment of recognition that while she is a "hero" herself, she doesn't have to deal with half the crap that Clark does. If I was Clark, I wouldn't be able to handle the responsibilities/life with someone like Chloe in it constantly reminding me how I ****ed up.

I do hope the Chlark friendship ends on a high note and that their friendship is repaired, but I still maintain that she needs to go and soon.

well all characters have had there ups and downs in the series. Sure i didnt like some but hey it happens and all we can do is move past it now. And hope for the better in the future. Sure for me only thing i didnt really care for chloe character is the whole davis storyline and then yea between seasons 5-7 being to much clark's brain lol. But that has stored even out there and all that. Overall i have liked the chloe character more then lana. Who i just got plan sick of after season 2.

Killing Chloe at this point would be pointless.

She's already lasted on this series for it's full 10 years as of next year, the damage is done.

For better or worse, Chloe Sullivan is Smallville's mascot.

I agree with this, not because a mascot is intended to represent a team, but the fact that the mascot is the most annoying thing involved with the team lol

As far as the most annoying character, I felt Chloe earned that role at the beginning of season 2 when she broke things off with Clark then got clingy and *****y when he continued to pursue Lana. She then betrays Clark and aids Lionel, then Lied about Clark's location when he went to metro in season 2/3 (to both Lana & the Kents) for 3 months. All because she didn't want Lana to know. Since then she's been my least favorite character and the writers downplayed Clark's intelligence just so they could keep her around.

I know most people complained about Lana, but come on. If someone completely lied to you and wouldn't be honest, of course you'd be upset. I never found Lana's character annoying, because she acted the way any normal person would. Someone lies, you get pissed. Plain and simple. Clark lied is ass off to her and gave off so many mixed signals that the poor girl had no clue what to think, sure we the audience knew why, but that doesn't justify hating Lana because she had no idea.

Oh God, that has to be one of the stupidest remarks ever, and yet also brilliant at the same time. Bravo to you, sir :woot:

It's like that old Dubya meme "Why do you hate Freedom?" It so catches you off-guard and puts you on the defensive that you can't even argue the actual point, you have to first clarify that you do not, in fact, hate freedom/women. Classic misdirection...

Wonder if Spideyboy is into politics?

The reason why Chloe has gotten so "annoying" these past few seasons goes something like this:

-New CEO of The CW is female
-Wants "strong female leads" on they're television shows
-Lana goes from damsel in distress to super-Lana by the end of her arc
-Lana leaves, now we have Chloe
-Chloe starts off as Clark's best friend that likes him
-She becomes the new damsel in distress for awhile until Lana leaves
-After Lana leaves, Chloe is now the only female lead on the show
-Chloe becomes a human computer, starts Watchtower, leads a rebellion against kryptonians in an alternate timeline, starts using Ollie for sex.

I blame the CEO's decision for wanting "strong female roles." Now we have "Hell Cats" coming soon.

Of all the women in the world that billionaire like Ollie could have sex with, he gets used by ****ing Chloe? Hahahaha, this show is hilarious!

And of all the women in the world that billionaire like Bruce Wayne could have sex with, he chooses to **** a cat costume wearing thief. And people always liked that. Dude, you're the hilarious one.

PS: Actually the "strong female role" on this show has always belonged to Lois. And she never had powers, meteor freak abilities or a Brainiac possession.

well ollie is a player and has been with many ladies from tess, to chloe, to lois and countless others we dont even know about. So i dont see whats the issue he is with chloe for a little while.

so to try to get out of this chloe debate. Any one want to share their thoughts on how they want to see darkseid storyline play out this coming season? I would love to hear what thoughts you guys have.

I would like to see him search for the Anti-Life Equation. And to really intimidate Clark. Clark should know the calibur of villain that is Darkseid and be really intimidated by him one way or another. He should know that this is like nothing he ever faced before.

With a few minor changes here and there, I'd really love to see this story line play out since Darkseid will be the villain: http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6339732

Someone posted that over in the Theories and Speculation section at Kryptonsite.

I have two main desires for season ten: 1. an extremely Clark-centered season. Very few angst and love triangle stories, and no depression or drug arcs. Just Clark kicking ass. 2. Since Darkseid will be in it, I doubt this one really applies but, I was really hoping for a much more personal villain and toned down season. What I mean is...I wish they wouldn't try to top themselves from the previous season (Doomsday to Zod and his super powered army to now Darkseid) and keep it simple. Bruno Manheim and Morgan Edge are both just humans that have personal ties to Clark. There's no reason to try and go for an all out Darkseid story when you could have Intergang who could be just as interesting.

I agree, Johnny. I want Clark to truly realize the force he's going up against. But I don't want him to be worried or scared. I want to see him go head to head with him with the confidence that Superman has always had, like nothing can stop HIM.

Yeah, and that only got him so far against Doomsday. ;) Though yeah, I agree. He should be confident enough until Darkseid shows him who he's up against. I mean, Superman almost never beat him by himself, right? What I want is for them to make Darkseid's presence apocalyptic. That's what Doomsday had in S8, though mainly because of his comicbook fame for killing Superman. Season 8 had that apocalyptic feel that Clark is gonna die. And I think that's why so many people were disappointed in the end - they thought we're gonna see Clark dead in Lois' arms which didn't happen. I want S10 to show that kind of feel about Darkseid. That Clark has no idea what is up against and is more threatened than ever before. I mean, people were going ape**** when they heard about Doomsday, now with Darkseid expectations will probably get 100 times higher. I really hope they do him justice.

argue all you want.. but Green Arrow has done many of the same damn things as Chloe... and no one is calling him annoying. It's because she's a girl and doing them... that makes her feel annoying. That and Clarks incompetence at times makes her seem smarter in some situations. Which superman fan's hate. but .. that's not her fault either. I mean the whole arch of Ollie and Chloe stock piling kryptonite weapons was actually very valid.... and Clark is kinda a *****e for not understanding that.

and Clark wasn't just kinda a *****e, he was a freaking moron

IMO mayble some fans are not calling out Ollie because he's a fellow hero?
