Making the perfect Spidey suit

Hey Brad, here are the pics you requested. These are smooth urethane webs. If the black part is shiny its because its urethane. The color of the webs is like a dark gun metal on the top and black on the sides. Btw Bryan this is part of your set.

does anybody have an idea of how to make actual lenses that would look just like the movie ones.

im pretty sure that in the movie they had different lenses for different looks, but the one most commonly used i think is that they had a really fine silverish metal mesh that way it looked metallic/reflective, and then they put like a clear plastic lense over that just to keep it looking smooth. correct me if i'm wrong..
thanks:)

Thanks guys. Ok here is what alot of you have been asking for. Someone to model the suit. This is the suit that had the webs fall off because I used the wrong glue, and I had to glue while my bro wore it. I still couldnt finish gluing, but thought I would take pics anyway. I will have another suit done (correctly and complete this time) within a week. I took the pics with no flash on so that you could see it with natural light. Enjoy the pics and please excuse the messy connections or glue, it is hard to do when its not layed flat, and ignore the red zipper. Ill keep everyone posted.

OK...tooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool.

Beautiful Nayef, and I am so proud of that man... I'm gonna be the suits new owner! ( Damn, I sound like some parent adopting a kid )

WOW NAYEF THAT LOOKS SOO GOOD, and the spider on the back looks soo crisp, jw is there a reason why the back still shows the read under the web? AND I CANT WAIT TILL MINE IN FEBUARY:) woot woot, cant wait till i see that shell and lenses:) i cant wait till the webs are done flat:)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE! Been a long time since I was on this board. Just popped by to see how things have progressed. And I must say that I am "incredibly impressed" with the talent! Everything has come a long way since I was here. You guys are fantastic! Puts my old stuff to shame. LOL

Keep up the great work everyone. And I hope you all have a great Holiday Season! (however you may celebrate)

they look so authentic... and yet they ain't accurate. Don't get me wrong, I really like em but they just ain't movie accurate. It's in the connections of the lines. check the movie suit...... reaaally close.

but DAMN does your suit looks good.

offtopic<>btw check this out http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL744/3482852/7159298/122394193.jpg
It's a spider-man model I've been working on.

Thanks guys. spiderfan ent, In my post I said to ignore the red zipper, its just a temp. Spiderjack! Hey man, good to see a familure name around here man. Thanks for the compliments im sure you will get going again on spidy. Have a Merry Christmas man. AME if you are referring to the messy work then I explained that in my post, otherwise I have no idea what your talking about because this is the most accurate suit yet.

just a small curve in the connections of each webbing line. nothing special. it's a really small detail so it isn't worth adding it in now.

Yeah the reason the dont curve is because I had to glue them after it was sewn up. The next suit will have great curves to the lines. Unless you are reffering to the corners of the webs? Those have curves, I made sure of it, thats why it took so long to get the webs made because of the curves in the corners. Ask spidyfan43, he just recieved some webs from me and he can tell you they curve in the corners. These webs are the correct dimension to the movie version and they transition sizes in the same place the movie version does. They are accurate.

or maybe if you sell like a 'finish it yourself' suit 9ie, printed not sewn, and webs, and stuff)

Nayef you have been a busy so and so :) Excellent work!!! Keep going I know your having a blast. Its hard work but at the end its all worth it. Its like writing a novel, a lot of details and constantly playing in your mind what to write, but at the end when its done you really appreciate it.

I'm wondering what the difference between a surger sewing machine, and a regular sewing maci is, I know that a surger automatically cuts off the excess fabric, but other then that, is that it?

Serger stitches stretch along with the fabric alot better than regular sewing machine stitches. I think they also hold on better.
Sergrer is also easier to use, when you get used to it :D

Your costume is from MPM costumes, right?
All MPM costumes Spidey suits are sewn with a serger, so just look at the seams inside your costume -> that's what you can do with a serger machine ;)
