Making the perfect Spidey suit

Well, first of all... that top picture is mine.
Spidey4fun and a few others have been using the two zipper method because it eliminates the third zipper and it's alittle bit easier to zip up.

Not sure if this helps anything but my Spidey4fun 1 piece suit has a single zipper that goes from armpit to armpit.

maydox where does the zipper travel?

From armpit, down the side, under the belt, up the side, end at armpit?

Or does it go....

armpit, across the back, end at armpit
*I used to do it this way... but when I figured out the "side-zip" method I found it to be much more flexible and easier to step in-and-out of

Exactly this. It doesn't seem to bunch up anywhere and it's pretty easy to get in and out of.

Hmm... didn't realize he was doing a single zip now.

SO Basically wakekid...

If you want screen accuracy, go with 3.

If you want ease of access... go with 2.

And if you want to make it even more simple.... just go with 1 really long one.

Mostly it's what you think you might want!

Just make sure that whatever you choose you are ABLE to install it correctly ;)
Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Thanks all, i truly appreciate your public service!

The one thing that i'am still having trouble locating is a face shell for around $30 or so. Anyone have any info? thanks

Guys, my spidey4fun suit was up for auction on ebay but for some reason Marvel complained about it infrindging on copyright even though I clearly stated I was not afiliated with Marvel or Sony Pics. After the complaint ebay took the suit off the auction list. Have any of you ever experienced this problem or anything like this? If so let me know what you had to do.

Cheers Lads

Put it BACK on Ebay...

Teach those mofos a lesson :o:o:o

I would but my friend who was selling it for me (as he has a power seller reputation) is a bit reluctant to after getting this e-mail from ebay who supposedly had a message from Marvel. It had 26 watchers aswell! DOH!!! :csad: Is there any wording I can use so people from Marvel cant complain!?

Need some help. Can anyone with a costume be kind enough to post a pic of the stitch required for the costume? I know there's the zigzag method. Is it exactly a zigzag or do I need the serger type of stitch? Thanks in advance!

List the suit as free spiderman costume with purchase of baseball card. Sell the card for "x" amount of money (ie: $300-$800 or whatever). That way your not technically selling the costume your giving it away with the purchase of a baseball card, or what ever cheap item you want to sell.

I'm always hesitant to bid on those kind of auctions... If you state that you're only selling the baseball card, and the suit will be givin to you free.. The owner could just say "I don't want to give the suit away anymore". And eBay can't do anything cause you were only "selling" the baseball card.

But hey, Sutts. Look at it this way, atleast they think your costume looks like theirs :)

after being an ebay powerseller myself and seeing these suits for a while on ebay, u need to be selective with your wording. You cannot put a "marvel" logo in your auction, in the title, i would recommend putting "fan made suit" or something like that. make sure you put at the bottom of the description it is not affiliated with marvel.

No copyrighted logos. Any C logo they will take you down. If you keep relisting they will take action, it varies from case to case so i would choose wisely

well, the 2 way stretch stuff was a mis-print, he normally uses 4 way stretch
I've only gotten some of his misprint stuff before, i ordered a couple different prints a while ago, and shoud hopefully be getting them soon. Once I get them sewn up and stuff I'll be able to say how well they fit. I ordered mine to fit around a 5'9', you look like kind of a tall 13 year old, mind me asking how tall you are and what size suit you got?

Hey, I'm about 5'9 and 125 lbs. The suit that I bought was standard size: 5'9-5'11, but there is absolutley no give in the suit. Also, I felt the fabric and I believe it's only a 2 way stretch, not 4 way like they said. I saw the sale suits they had a while back, maybe they accidently sewed one of those up?

If you go on eBay right now and do a search for "Spiderman Costume" and sort by price, the top 4 costumes have "Spiderman" or "Spider-man" in their title - and they are definitely not licensed merchandise. I see auctions like that all of the time, so I'm not sure what was so bad about yours that it got singled out by Marvel??

Thanks KJ, i have been their before, although the seller has not responded to any of my emails, i' am alittle weary of sending money if he does not tend to it anymore. Has anyone else bought from hero-gear?

I my friend bout a real cheap lycria spidey suite fro ebay. That sure isn't official. And the guy sells them all the time.

I don't see why marvel would be going up in arms all a sudden.

Unless its that "time of the month" for them.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j7/Spidey4fun/Spidey4fun/spidey4fun2.jpg

And was thinking of applying acrylic webbing to it myself.

Does anyone have any experience of applying the acrylic to a suit that could offer me any advice before i purchase? Basically what you need and how to apply it to the suit. Selling my current suit soon and want an upgrade :word:

Any help is greatly appreciated guys.

Thanks in advance!

My advice is get a printed webbing suit. you run the risk of ruining an awesome S4F suit with acrylic.

I've made suits with acrylic that looked good, but up close there were unavodable flaws. Spend the extra cash and get printed webs... he can customze the shade or color of them too if you want a darker more comic look.
