Here's my take: Lex Luthor (LexCorp) rebuilds metropolis and own the majority of it... maybe Zod's body is on the hands of LC scientists (that could create BIZARRO)

many experiments could create Metallo(a few radioactive fragments of Krypton and the fear of the army could be used by Lex)

or/and The Parasite.. (I would go of this two)

and with the rests of Zod's armor.. Lex build his own fight suit...

What do you all guys think? Which plot and villians could appear in the sequel?

^^ this .. makes most sense after MoS .. Lex gaining political power & popularity in the wake of Metropolis' destruction & tinkering at Metallo in his basement as a "safeguard" against that rogue from Krypton

Plus it gives you action too, instead of a "boring Luthor" movie.

Since Superman contains the genetic code of Krypton in his DNA, I think it's quite easy to see Luthor & Bizarro in the sequel, if Lex can somehow capture this version of Supes, which might be a tall order lol. But I'd also like Brainiac & Metallo as a tandem too, so either combo would work, with the unused one for a possible third. And Darkseid at some point (unless JLA really gets off the ground, I think he'd be good for that) would be awesome!

I doubt we'll ever see Bizzaro on the big screen. At least, not as we all know him. Studio executives think very little of audience intelligence, and in their minds, having the bad-guy and the good-guy look alike, in similar outfits, even with all the differences they could do - facial disfigurements, odd-set colors of the outfit, so on and so forth - will only be 'confusing' to the audience.

I think it's a load of bull, but it's how the suits think.

Metallo might be good, although I think they'll be concerned over Terminator and/or Robocop comparisons. Especially with T5 planned and a rebooted Robocop filmed.

Parasite could be interesting, but I don't know if he's known well enough.

Sadly, I'm all but certain that we'll see Lex as the main baddie for the next film. Who will actually be the physical foe for Supes that Lex is behind, no idea. But I think Lex will be the focus. Which honestly, I don't want. I think Lex has been over-exposed. I don't think he should be in the films but as mentioned and maybe cameo-level shown. But that's me, I'm in the minority, and it won't be so...

Honestly, I'd like to see Braniac.

I think the sequel will need to live up to the action of this one. For all the criticisms, the one thing that people who like the film enjoyed, from my estimation, was the action. Superman finally felt sufficiently powerful, the most powerful superhero in the world. I can't see Luthor walking around with Kryptonite being that enticing after what we got here. He needs to be in this series, hopefully for more than just one film, but there will also need to be physical challenges. Brainiac, Metallo, Darkseid, Parasite, Bizarro, something along those lines I think isn't only justified, it'll probably be expected...

I REALLY want Darkseid, my only reservation would be if they finally do get Justice League off the ground, I think he'd be a sufficient villain for that. But I also don't see how they can't use him twice like Loki either.

Indeed, since unlike Darkseid, Loki could be used twice because of his connection to Thor’s world. Darkseid isn’t as lucky in that department and plus, I honestly think that the sequel needs to lay off the “alien” villains for the time being and allow any earth based supervillains to shine.

I personally can't see Bizarro ever appearing in this franchise.

As has been the case with most people, my theory is pretty much the same in that Lex will definitely be introduced in the sequel - he'll be the key player in the rebuilding of Metropolis. His role in Metropolis being rebuilt will gain him a lot of respect and clout from just about everyone, he'll use this to twist the public perception of Superman... however I think he'll initially present himself as the man who is a friend of Superman, who welcome's his presence on Earth...but as you all know Lex always has his motivations, I think he'll always, if not publicly himself in the latter stages of the story, at least indirectly subvert the public image and perception of Superman, and invoke his influence over the people of Metropolis for his own gain.

That said, we don't know that the sequel will open with the public trusting Superman in any way at all... after all, he's a Kryptonian just like the others were, whether he was trying to save them or not - that's all up in the air at the minute, but assuming their is some form of public trust in him... I think that theory is the most logical.

I know it's been said by a lot of people before, and for good reason because it seem's like the most probable step from this film and the most logical way to introduce Luthor in to the film universe but that's my theory on it too.

As for their being another villian in the sequel, if they go with anyone, I think it'll be Braniac.... maybe even in a minor role - it would give them a genuine reason to go back to Krypton should they want and you never know he could even act as a set up for the inevitable Justice League film...

..which by the way I don't think they've thought through fully at all. Man of Steel 2 should be the 'Iron Man' of the DC Cinematic Universe, use that as your establishing piece - Man of Steel reintroduced Superman to a modern audience but I don't think it was a suitable establishing piece for a future connected cinematic universe, that should be Man of Steel 2, they should sit down and map out this universe and where they intend to go with it using Man of Steel 2 as their foundation.

No Bizarro!

I was never a fan of him

He always comes off as a mentally challenged version of superman, which i find very insensitive and not fair. Or he comes off as the mirror opposite of what Superman stands for, which is a cop out as far as story lines are concerned. But i will eat my words if someone proves me wrong.

If it is Luthor, dont make him corrupt or a criminal, make him tech savy businessman who holds superman accountable for the destruction of Metropolis.

Exactly - it'll have to be a more 'political' for lack of a better word Luthor, it would make perfect sense in this universe they've created that someone would hold Superman accountable - it shouldn't be some suit from the government or military, Luthor would be the perfect character for it.

I would save Lex for the 3rd film. Lex and Brainiac seems like a solid pairing and a good way to finish off a trilogy. I think Intergang, Kalibak and Darkseid works in the second.

For Man of Steel 2:

- Doomsday is the main villain
- Lana Laine shows up and takes Supes away from Lois
- Supergirl appears, turns out to be the Kryptonian from the empty pod in the FoS ship
- Supergirl is Faora's genetic twin. But unlike Faora, she's gone against her programming and renounced violence. However, because of his memories of getting his ass kicked by her twin, Superman doesn't trust her.
- Superman and Supergirl team up to battle Doomsday. Supergirl apparently dies trying to save Superman and Lana from Doomsday. Superman survives, but Lana doesn't.

The main themes of MoS2 will be Superman exploring the limits of his powers and strength, trying to be that bridge between 2 races like Jor-El envisioned. The legacy of Krypton will continue to be prominent.

Personally, I hate the Brainiac crap, what brainiac is good at is already in MOS, it's pointless to me; Bizarro on the other hand would be soooo much more interesting!!!

Just imagine a Sups 3 Junkyard fight, between 2 of the same people, one evil, the other good, for an entire MOVIE!!!!!! THIS WOULD BE EPIC!!!!!! I don't mind Lex, as he would have to be the one to create such a evil clone of sups.

I will 100% guarantee this now... If Brainiac is the main focus in MOS2, this film WILL FAIL!!!! Mark my words!!!! It will be the Iron Man 2 of comic book movies! And YES, I WILL go as far as saying that if Brainiac is in the 2nd film, we just may have another Green Lantern on our hands here! Brainiac is such a boring character, and yes, yes, he is!

It just makes me sad that Goyer already stated he would love Brainiac in a Sups film! Hate it, hate it, hate, it!!! I I (personlly) want a realistic fight, not some SiFi garabage!

I'd love to see the live action Superman issue 75 , but Man of Steel 2 seems too soon for that.

The next should introduce Lex and have Metallo be the main villain. Also they should scale it back a bit for more character development.

Superman is sci fi so saying you don't like sci fi is odd. Bizarro is cheesy as **** and wouldn't the natural casting choice for the character be Cavill? I don't want to see Cavill play a villain in a Superman movie. Sorry.

Smallville's version of Bizzaro was pretty badass, and actually the only version of Bizzaro that i like and want to see again.

Please for our sake, keep Lana Lang and stupid romances out of the film. Man of Steel was awesome because the relationship between Sups and Lois was believable without exaggerations. Don't ruin it with Lana.

Metallo and Lex are very possible. You have a lot of Kryptonian technology to work on to create Metallo and Lex's suit.

Brainiac is really a dream at this point. I don't think we are going to see him anytime soon.

Intergang, Kalibak, Darkseid.

I really love a possible intergang angle. Intergang is a very underutilized foe in Superman lore imho. They are the perfect organization to show off Clark's skills as a reporter. Doing an investigative reporting on this criminal enterprise would really develop Clark's professional persona.

They could find a way to connect Lex with intergang somehow. Maybe Lex is using like black-market devices/materials to help rebuild Metropolis and he involved in shady financial transactions with intergang. And Clark and Lois find out.

It's actually similar to a Lois & Clark storyline from that series. Don't remember which season, might be season 1.

theme : superman goes against the whole world!!!
