What about General Lane in the sequel also? I'd like to see him try to recruit Superman to get involved with wars, and Superman rejects him, giving Lane more than the "He's an alien, and must be down" motive he has in the comics. He's practically Thunderbolt Ross.

I really, really want to see Lex in Zod's battlesuit. We've had the underground/comedian for so long, it would be great if he was actually a threat.

Yup - that could be a perfect explanation, the suit was reverse engineered by lexcorp - kryptonite should be a 'nuclear' style fuel that like it is for us, harms kryptonian's where as to us, it causes slow decay - hence lex losing his hand due to the ring.

I do think man of steel perfectly sets up limitless possibilities
