What movie does deserve how much money it makes?

Does it matter that geeks saw Star Wars?
Does it matter that pre-pubescent and teen girls saw Titanic?

Also Milkman, I wanted SR to do well too and I really wanted to like it more but honestly it could have been better.

True, and I agree, SR could have been better but it's still a decent comic book adaptation. It's not like it's a Punisher, X3, FF, Catwoman, or an Elektra.

I´m sorry but X3, Fantastic Four, and Punisher are better movies than Superman Returns, even Elektra is a better movie than SR, Superman Returns is too flat, boring, without a real plot, with lame performances, with an one dimensional villain, with an image to old films, sorry but Superman Returns is one of the worst comicbook movies, Superman Returns is a lame movie.

Well it sure will be Spiderman 3 and Pirates 3 the main contenders next year but don't count out Shrek 3 and Harry Potter 5. It should eb a good summer for movies in 2007. Spiderman better have good legs for second place for its up against Shrek then Pirates 3. What a may 2007 will be. As for superman returns. I heard constant talk how X-men 3 would be blown out domestically by Superman Returns. Jack Sparrow skipped right over Superman and did not look back.

umm no. x3 nor fantastic four is better then SR. there all on equal suckage. since all three failed to deliver a good story.

This gave me one of the best laughs I've had in at least a week. Superman Returns is better than 80% of the stuff Marvel has released. Elektra better? Punisher better? You've got to be joking. There's a difference between what you enjoyed and what's critically an all around better film.

The films you could realistically say were better are the first two X-Men films and both Spider-man films, that's it.

Yup, but in the end, you're the judge of what you like and dislike. I'm glad you like the Pirates flicks, they just don't do anything for me for some reason. I know they're entertaining and what-not, but something just isn't "there" for me.

I never said they were higher, because you're right, they're not. My point was there's plenty of people out there over the age of 20 that thought the film wasn't all that it's cracked up to be. A film that usually makes that type of cash usually doesn't anyway...........

I'm sorry but Superman Retuns was doomed when the release schedule came out saying Pirates 2 July 7th. They were doomed before there release. Not to say Superman wasn't any good. Its just that Spiderman, Shrek and Pirates Of The Caribbean hae somesort of weird box office magic. It fell prey to Jack Sparrow as L.X.G did. Spiderman and Shrek luckily are opening behind Pirates 3.

See, the fact is, the majority of people disagree with you. The movie is getting good word of mouth. The box office is an indicator of that. 60 million on MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY is impressive numbers, that indicate amazing W.O.M. Another 18 million on Friday implies the same.

Superman on the other hand, despite how much you would like to believe in your dillusional dream world, is not. Otherwise it wouldn't continue to pull in horrible numbers.

The fact is, the majority of people liked Pirates more than Bryan Singer's P.O.S. Superman movie.

Superman got only like $3 million on Friday. It's NOT going to make over $200 million. It's not even going to FLY past $200 million as the WB spin doctors said it would.

Those international numbers look pretty bad as well.

The WB offices are not somewhere I'd like to be right now.
