Man punched for singing Coldplay song

Why would you go to a karoke bar in the first place, those places suck. What, she couldn't wait till the next season of Karoke Idol.

There's a lot of Coldplay hate in here. :down

[CHRIS ROCK] That missus mustav' had a RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD to snap like that[/CHRIS ROCK] :hyper:

I need to get that chick's number! :wow:

LOL!

I read this story thinking some macho *****e bag was the one to clock the Coldplay fan, but it's even funnier that this ***** got beat up by a girl :D

I went to a Coldplay concert once :ninja:
but it was with some hot chicks :ninja: :ninja:

I like them a lot. I like the way the drums are recorded (which I know is weird), and Martin's song writing, as well as the band's atmospheric sound.
I'm sorry you have bad taste, but, if you like it you like it, that's all that matters.
The only thing more pathetic than liking a s***ty band is being one of those dorks who is ashamed to admit he likes what he likes.

How is it bad taste? Why don't you like them? I'm sure I could say the same about a list of some of the music you like, as well.

^In Coldplay's defense, they put on a really good show when I saw them . . . and they almost kinda rocked it . . . a couple times I was like "goddam, this is their song!?"

I bought their first CD before they really blew up, and I never got another of their discs . . . I don't really listen to them, but like I said they put on an amazing show

Yes, you most likely would not like good music if you're capable of enjoying such bad music.
It's a huge world full of all sorts of people.
But Coldplay's pretentious lyrics, coupled with their beyond cheezy, extra-safe, uninteresting, unoriginal chord progressions and instrumentation, which seem to skim for the dregs of the most "common denominator" elements of U2 and Radiohead and countless faceless pop bands of the 90's, seeming to extract and discard anything idiosynchratic, inspired or just plain cool, are toxic to the ear. Such manipulative pablum, aping the greats by rote. :o

Nice.

Sometimes, "safe" music is in order. While, I might not fully agree with you, I can see what you're saying. Like, the chord progessions aren't unoriginal in my opinion. Unoriginal would be anything that labels itself as "punk". That genre apes itself without trying.

Also, I noticed you left out music that you listen to...

I don't blame that chick. I love Coldplay, but the song "yellow" got on my nerves after about 3 listens.

It's just something about that song that makes me want to punch babies. :p

Well, that's not shame, it's boredom. I've talked about the music I love ad nauseum here.
And, it wouldn't matter if you don't like Led Zeppelin, the Beatles and David Bowie. They're still the best. :)
