More thoughts:
- Poor Hercules.

The book's alive, and according to THE BEAT should last until issue #150, which is about another year. But, still...sniffle...
- More LOCKJAW AND THE PET AVENGERS. To be fair, it probably sells better than other side Marvel Universe projects like 1602, HOM, some NOIR books, or Marvel Apes, and most of the Marvel MAX line. And that's just monthly. Looked at from that perspective, besides the "animal fun" aspect, it makes sense. With so many $3.99 books and so many Marvel titles that have seen ugly 25% plus drops in sales within the last 6 months, one could question the wisdom of Marvel not trimming the fat of their line a bit and either not publish stuff like 1602 or Marvel Apes that sell down the bottom of the Top 150, or simply release them as trades if that is where they sell best like DC EARTH ONE and be done with it. But so long as Marvel isn't doing that, though, PET AVENGERS is likely one of the top titles of that heap. Hell, I think the debut issue of the last mini outsold NOMAD: GIRL WITHOUT A WORLD #1.
And yes, "Unleashed" is a cute sub-title.
- It would be a bit daft if Marvel was canning the MARVEL ADVENTURES line due to low sales/high costs yet continuing to push out bottom feeding stuff like 1602 and HOUSE OF M mini's. For heaven's sake, HOUSE OF M was rendered moot in 2005! Who besides the creators' friends and families are buying them? Then again, it was daft to have a MARVEL ADVENTURES line for kids and not offer them ANY kind of price break. JOHNNY DC books are all still $2.50, as are many ARCHIE titles. Even in the heart of bankruptcy, Marvel used to sell kiddie books based on their cartoons (even based on SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED or AVENGERS: UNITED THEY STAND) for $1.99 (although to be fair, from about 1998-2001, that was the going rate for most comics). They can't give kids a break of even a DIME in their post-Disney merger era?
- Kind of funny that it took an appearance in an X-Men event to get CLOAK AND DAGGER another one shot.
- I've read a lot of comments online that out of some 22-24 issues of CABLE, only a handful really advanced the story with Bishop, Cable, and Hope and that the story would have been better served as a series of one-shots or mini's without some of that fat. I don't read CABLE, and the covers usually look boring to me, but curious if anyone who does would agree.
- Those who enjoy SWORD, be warned; the debut issue at $3.99 barely sold over 21k. That is quite back to barely DEBUT in the Top 100. This series may be axed by issue 10-12, so enjoy it while you can.
- I have to say, Jackpot's costume has actually gotten MORE generic over time according to that cover. And here I though Mockingbird's new design was plain.
Jean Grey!
Considering she's had a few "broke-back poses" and once was a professional model just like MJ, not exactly.
