I dropped FNSM in that arc. You know you're scraping the bottom of the storytelling barrel when you have to tease the return of the one character in the Spider-Man mythos who should never, ever return.
Looking at the Avengers solicits, there's an awful lot of Dark Reign mini-series. Zodiac? Lethal Legion? Who would ever want these?
Poor Mockingbird. Everyone else on that New Avengers cover gets someone they could reasonably take down, but Mockingbird, who has no powers, gets f***ing
Ares. I wonder if Bendis brought her back just to kill her off again.
The solicitation for the newly vilified Initiative sounds pretty good. I was on the fence about continuing with the series when they switch from heroes to villains, but I guess Gage either thinks like I do or can read my mind, 'cause a Blastaar appearance is a pretty solid bet to keep me reading. I was just wondering at the end of War of Kings: Ascension #2 why Osborn hadn't done anything about 42.
Damn, Mighty Avengers sounds awesome. My only concern is whether three separate stories might be a bit much for one issue. I'm sure Slott can pull it off, though. Quicksilver and US Agent together should prove to be a fun odd couple if Slott keeps making both of them as obnoxious as he has so far.
S***, I was planning on dropping Secret Warriors too, but the last issue was good and set up an interesting new direction and the solicitation for #7 sounds great, since Ares finally gets involved. I guess I'll stick with it and see where they go with this new, mercenary Howling Commandos army (or are
they supposed to be the Secret Warriors? I still don't know who that name specifically applies to).
