Yeah its exactly what I expected and wanted it to be, a great short blast of Marvel retro action but with a little extra depth with levelling of characters and neat touches. Its nicely crafted and the animation is excellent, there are a few glitchs and bugs but they seem to be more when you go into online play when things can get hectic with 4-8 players laying all manner of moves down.
The best part is how diverse all the characters feel and play but they all play as you would expect, Spidey flys around at high speed, She-Hulk is big slow moving brawler, Storm floats around like a godess delivering lightning bolts and tornados etc etc. There's lots of room for experiment with the pairings as well so there is always something new to try.
Its not a long or deep story but replaying levels over and over is sort of the point, blasting everyone with Surfer and Panther tearing around at speed is great fun. I now have another long list of characters I want added to a Marvel game (Gambit/Rogue/Daredevil/Colossus) but lets see what we get. They seem to want to try and pick some more obscure characters as well so maybe Howard the Duck is more likely.
