Born Again Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again General Discussion Thread

I feel like having them all back through a Disney+ show is not really an upgrade.

Crossing over in a movie with an actual role, would be THE upgrade. With Disney stating Vision Quest is the last mcu show to feature movie characters. The Netflix gang returning for Disney+ just feels like a retread of the 2010s Marvel Television era, without the baggage from ABC/Hulu/Freeform shows. I cannot muster anticipation for a Disney+ series featuring Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
I dont care if it's an "upgrade " or not. I care if the product is good or that I enjoy it. I don't want them to just make a Daredevil or Jessica Jones movie just for the sake of them having a movie.

I have no doubt that that more of the Netflix superheroes are gonna return but I'd still be more excited if they announce more of the supporting characters return.

still no Brett, still no Marci, still no Maggie, still just wishful thinking for me
I do have ideas on how to connect at least Brett and Marci into the greater MCU. With Brett, if he's still in the NYPD maybe he's part of an NYPD-FBI Task Force led by Jimmy Woo. With Marci, she could work for the New York office of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzman and Holloway, the law firm from She Hulk.

We can easily connect any street level characters to the greater MCU without shoehorning an Avenger into it. With Jessica Jones, she could do a case in which Jimmy Woo hires her to do. If Luke Cage comes back and still owns the nightclub, the nightclub could be a place where someone like Sharon Carter makes her deals. Or if he goes back to owning the barbershop, he can cut the hair of Isaiah Bradley. If Colleen Wing returns, maybe she has a martial arts class and that class is an adult class and some of the adults are Kamala's parents and brother.

No we don’t need Matt to hook up with every female on the show lol

Marvel’s first live-action Disney+ series to not make Nielsen’s Top 10 list of original streaming shows.
Unfortunately, I think Matt not being in the suit for the first couple of episodes (besides the opening) turned viewers off. I really liked Born Again, but I can imagine people "not getting it" if you never watched the Netflix show.

Wouldn't surprise me if Disney cancels the show after the second season if that also has numbers this low... so I'm hoping people will still give it a shot.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up as a 2 and done. Like I said in the past, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will remain as the Marvel live action with the most episodes and seasons. I can't name a lot of streaming shows that hit the sixth season mark.

If this only has one more season left, what would happen to the rest that would return after season 2?

They get their own shows that only last a season or two?

I could go with Jessica Jones just being a one-and-done. Incredible first season, very dull second season, and didn't even bother with the third.

The Punisher only got a Special Presentation under Marvel Studios. I don't see how Jessica Jones and the other two (if they appeared in Born Again season 2) are going to get their own show when Born Again becomes 2 season and done. Disney+ is also supposedly slowing down on Marvel shows.

I'd be fine with more Special Presentations and less shows
A Heroes For Hire special, with Luke, Jess, Danny, Misty, and Colleen could be a lot of fun

I am surprised we didn't have more special presentations already, because we can use special presentations to answer questions. I still hope they do an in-universe documentary about the Howling Commandos as a special presentation.

Whether it gets another season or not largely will depend on the ratings and such for season 2. I expect this season to do better with all the guest characters we appear to be getting

Regardless, 2 seasons on top of the 3 Netflix seasons will be plenty for me if we have to say goodbye.

Sign me up for more Special Presentations—Disney+ needs to lean more into doing original films instead of only series.

For the MCU, I like Season Presentations better than tv series. The entire story is told in 1 sitting. But I don't think they attract more subscribers or else they would have done it as much as the TV series. These characters really should have made a jump to the big screen by now.
