Born Again Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again General Discussion Thread

Dadgum, it's great. It's really great.

Advance reviews of TV series by critics are basically worthless these days. They are based on just the first few episodes without any understanding of whether the complete story is satisfying and are invariably positive for large franchise content. Even garbage like Ahsoka and the Acolyte, which bombed so hard it was cancelled right away, have overwhelming positive Rotten Tomatoes scores.

Usually yes, but I do believe critics did watch all of this particular series

I watched the whole season.

I'm pretty sure that's Vile's own review of the whole season.

Muse hasn’t popped up in Daredevil: Born Again yet but I already got my conspiracy theory hat on, so here’s a Baggers Fan Theory that might not even go anywhere.

Muse in the comics is an unnamed individual, so got me thinking maybe Muse by end of this season turns out to be someone we know.

So here’s my Top 5 of who Muse could be under the mask:

5) Maybe he just be an unnamed individual like in the comics and just add to the randomness and how far New Yorkers have come to breaking point after everything. Show things happen without a reason, some people are that far gone they resort to inhuman actions.

4) One of the individuals in BB Urich’s Report.

3) Heather Glenn

Could do a gender switch and have Heather turn out to be Muse. Having us comic book fans know the history and how things end for her, maybe doing a reveal like this it be a complete rug pull for us all. The trope of therapists being as crazy as the people they treat could be turned up to 11 in Born Again?

2) Buck Cashman

There something off about him but having his namesake being “Bullet” in the comics he’ll mostly become him instead of being Muse.

1) Daniel Blake

He seems way too enthusiastic, which maybe could be hiding a darker motive to get nearer to Wilson Fisk?!

What you thinking, am I overthinking or am I on to something?!

NPN did back in January.

  • "Heaven's Half Hour"
  • "With Interest"
  • "The Hollow of His Hand"
  • "Straight to Hell"
  • "Sic Semper Systema"
  • "Isle of Joy"
  • "Excessive Force"
  • "Art For Art's Sake"
  • "Optics"

Those hacks. :o
Yeah looks like those titles are listed in production order. I'll have to guess the next name.

So I was curious and checked out the Daredevil reddit and oh boy I was so shocked at how negative they are about the show, like it made me question have they ever read any Daredevil comic? It seems like it's so popular these days to hate on the MCU and that made them determined to hate the show on the smallest possible criticism. I won't be visiting that again lol.

I on the other hand am shocked that people are so positive in here and in real life with some I know. The show looks and feels like a huge downgrade compared to the original Netflix series, in every way imaginable. I wanted to give it a shot but so far it's a chore to keep watching. I'll possibly elaborate more at another time.

Its only been two episodes, but the shorter runtime helps my attention span more. Netflix dropping all 13 episodes and they were like at least 55 episodes long per episode.... I was bored a lot.

That being said, there was a particular scene in episode 2, that was quite long and I knew it was going to be long. So I left my room to do some things (I could still hear the dialogue from the TV) when I came back to my room, there were still in that talking scene.

How does that compare to other Marvel shows?

Has it been terrible, though? We've had Cox and D'Onofrio talking about it nonstop, lots of posters, the folks behind it talking nonstop about the violence, plus above all else, it's Daredevil.

Now, I haven't watched it myself just yet, but I would imagine Daredevil of all shows would get viewers. Of the main Netflix shows, it was the one that people gravitated towards the most.

Yeah I don't see what's so terrible about the marketing
Everybody I know was super hyped to watch it
I think this has more to do with Disney + shedding millions of subscribers over the past year than anything wrong with the show or its marketing

While this season may be a bit more expensive cause of the restart we also have to remember that Daredevil is cheaper than say Secret Invasion or the various shows that tried to be movies. So my question is how is the performance relative to the budget for subsequent seasons

The First trailer was just one month ago.
Not good marketing to increase awareness and willingness in casual watchers.

To be honest. We all love it. But in the real world, I don’t know how much chatter Daredevil was getting. It certainly wasn’t in the same way that say, Penguin got last year where people who don’t usually watch superhero shows were talking about it.

To be fair, Colin Farrell is a movie star while Charlie Cox isn’t really known in the mainstream.

I'm liking the show so far, but those viewership numbers seem a little concerning.

Wow, The ACOLYTE performed much better than Daredevil? I guess people were hate watching it :funny:

Eh, the numbers are what they are. We're getting season 2 next year regardless and you know what...maybe its best if this doesnt go on for 4-5 seasons and it just stops at 2 seasons. Make this sort of a mini series run that tells a story and calls it a day.
