Marvel Television Marvel Studios' Ironheart

The copyright filing also lists Manny Montana and Shea Couleé as "Cousin John" and "Slug" respectively, meaning they're probably Hood's cousin John King and a very loose adaptation of drug lord Ulysses Lugman, AKA Slug who in the comics joined Hood's gang.

This show seems like it's moment has passed. We're almost 2 years past BPWF and people aren't exactly talking or raving about Riri the way they do other characters. Maybe this one just needs to fade into obscurity until after a MCU reset.

You could say that to a lot of mcu characters. Marvel Studios lost track with a lot of the characters, and like I've said many times - a dozen of MCU shows tied to a film franchise with over 30 films - is really quite overwhelming to casual viewers. And this being another series out of many, is not going to help it get public attention as a Mcu feature film, when it finally comes out.

I do think Marvel has in general lost momentum for various strands of it's projects which is not surprising. However, whilst it's not a top of the stream charts every week Agatha's success does seem to be increasing in interest as it goes on and does have a devoted fanbase nearly 4 years out from WandaVision. That's also balanced by its relatively modest budget.

I like Dominque Thorne who is a big reason I'm going to watch it, but recently learning this is supposed to be Science Vs Magic is also interesting, obviously because I'm enjoying the hell out of the "magic" part of the MCU right now.

This is going to be much more expensive than Agatha and "being the next Iron Man" is going to cause all sorts of issues for many reasons but I'm not writing it off just yet.

I don't know why we got an Ironheart character and series, before the reboots of X-Men, Fantastic 4 and the one thats been announced forever (circa 2019) - Blade. I know Young Avengers might be happening but its not like its happening that soon, and there's plenty of characters that are still around in the mcu, that they don't really need an all legacy characters roster.

Also Ironheart in Wakanda Forever felt out of place because she wasn't really a Black Panther, and it felt like they only added her in because she was going to get her own eventually, not that she was an essential character to Black Panther.

I feel like they should either have done an Ironheart Disney+ show or have her in Wakanda Forever. The show almost feels like a setback after the movie.

For me the way they framed and brought her into Wakanda Forever just felt like a misstep. Maybe the show will be a reset of sorts but yeah going from Namor hunting you to back to school developing tech seems like a step back. Hope they make her suit feel earned rather than rush it just to get her in the armor for the visuals.

Based on that promo though I'm thinking they want the suit visuals. . . .

Basically, either don't have her build a suit in Wakanda Forever or have her build a suit in Wakanda Forever and that's her origin story. It doesn't have to be an identical origin story. She got to build the suit. Now she gets to build the suit again?

It feels a bit surreal this is finally coming out next month.

Iirc, this was part of the 2nd wave of numerous Disney+ shows for Marvel. And this was supposed to come out in fall 2023.

This and Blade are the final two from that group.

Ryan Coogler sounding like Marvel forced him to read word for word off a teleprompter lol
