I thought Spider-Man wasn't too bad. He could do plenty of damage with 'Web Warrior' and his 'Web Snare' held everyone in place. I think the problem is that he wasn't really unique. Aside from the 'Web Shield' and 'Slingshot', other characters shared pretty much the rest of his move list.

Agreed. Spider-Man was only good with his powered up shield, then you could kick some ass with him. Daredevil was much better though and more fun to play.

When I first unlocked DD I thought his double jump was infinitely more fun and useful than Spidey's webswings.

I guess I just expected more from one of Marvel's top heroes. I thought he was gonna be the one I always wanted on my team. Instead he's below DD and Luke Cage on my useful characters list.

Alot of the characters were less than expected...

Thor
Strange
Surfer

They all lacked that power house aura that they have in the comics...

One character who was so powerful he could wipe out an entire screen of enemies in one hit was Captain Marvel (PSP version - Sadly we dont get him in the 360 version)...he was what a major powerhouse should be like...Thor,Strange and Surfer should all be able to take out enemies with the wave of their hand but nope...Marvel opt for completely pointless powersets for them...

If they cant portray em right they need to leave them out all together....

Totally agree on Thor. It didn't take long for me to figure out that Iron Man was going to be my powerhouse.

There are certain characters who should be powerhouses...Hulk,Thor,Strange

out of these only Hulk plays to his actual power levels...picking enemies up and smashing everything in sight....hell even Thing was better as a powerhouse than the other power houses....

I would like if the MUA games played a little more like Friend or Foe. As sucky as most of the games was, I loved Spider-Man in it. He was was totally fun to play with.

I played a bit of the FoF demo. Spidey was fun to play as but it suffered from me knowing that there were far better and more ambitious Spider-man games.

Surfer was ridiculously overpowered. The guy was a powerhouse and I wouldnt say he lacked in the power department

I think what Nightwing is trying to say is that they were powerful but not as powerful as they could have been.

Making characters like Silver Surfer faithful to the comics in terms of power level, would equal having god mode constantly switched on. Which would make the game really boring. You should think about that.

Which is probably why you should have had to fight him or something instead.

I would gladly switch him for another character. I liked that you could control him in the Galactus fight in the first MUA. He should've probably stayed that way, playable for one Mission only.

Wouldn't Hulk be really overpowered compared to other characters in the game?

Depends on what Hulk we're talking about. Same as Thor.

Hulk has a baseline strength. He only gets ridiculously overpowered when pissed. Which could be simply simulated with boosts, or an extreme move that makes him unstoppable for a short time like Juggernaut in XML2. Or maybe give him an anger bar, similar to Wolverine's rage bar.

I wouldn't mind having some characters powered down (like Thor, Hulk, Surfer, Blackbolt, Captain Marvel) so that they weren't too uber powerful compared to the rest, as long as the rest of charcters were less powered down in other areas, like superstrong characters should have stronger melee than ones of regular strength.

I like the anger bar idea for Hulk. I think they should incorporate more ideas like this into the characters to help diversify the gameplay. Superheroes aren't all the same. Characters like Cloak and Dagger would be cool beacuse you could play as one at a time and switch between them.
Blackbolt would be cool if his devistating voice power could only be able to be used once in a while. It would basically kill everyone, but take a long time to refill.
Dazzler could be neat because she could have a sound meter. When it's full her moves are stronger and as she uses them it depletes, you'd have to recharge it a little if you wanted her powers to be at their highest level.
Anything they could do to add an extra layer of strategy into the game would be great.

looks like Cable and Bishop are in. Might be only NPC, might be playable, but in.

The brief backstory (showcased in the recent teaser trailer) that accompanied the demo is from the pages of the 2004 Secret War miniseries (a precursor to Civil War): Nick Fury has gone missing in Latveria, and it's up to your team to find out what happened to him. A short in-game cut-scene played out where Bishop (one detail I noticed was that his lips moved along with the dialog thanks to the completely redone character models) is giving orders to infiltrate a military stronghold and capture Cable, who might have information on Fury's whereabouts. Although we were not given the controller, we watched as Hulk, Iron Man, Invisible Woman, and Daredevil began their assault on the military base, dispatching goons left and right while showcasing the game's Havok physics engine and their new fusion abilities.

If they know what's good for them, Cable better be playable. I want my Deadpool/Cable duo back.

I would imagine he will be. Bishop mght end up as an NPC though, which wouldn't kill me, he's okay, but we've already played him in XML2.

I hope we still get Deadpool as a playable character, whether it makes sense to the plot or not!

Yeah, Deadpool and Cable are a great partnership, if we get one, we should get both.

since the first game came out, before the dlc i always thought that if hulk was in the game he needed rage mode.

here are my ideas

wolverine-berserker rage-increase in damage delt, speed, super accellerated healing factor, and extra rage abilities.

hulk-savage rage meter- increase in strength (damage), speed, durability, and extra rage abilities, accellerated healing factor.

i always hated that hulk and wolverine had so few powers so when you go into rage mode you get to keep the orignal abilities and still get to use the beefed up rage ones as well.

how do you all like those ideas ?

Id rather DP not be in the game but if his inclusion increases the chances for Cable, then I could go for it. I really want Cable playable
