It wont make a difference as its all about money. They have put platform exclusives to help push sales and will continue to do so. I mean will people not buy the product bc of it? I think not

Unfortunately, you're right. Well, we'll just have to accept that we'll just miss out on characters.

Hopefully, they'll do the same characters on 360/PS3/Wii like before,

Yeah, I won't mind PSP getting some exclusives as long as I'm not having to contemplate buying a Wii just so that I can play as Namor or Vision.

Deadpool sucks as a character. I wish he would jsut be killed off permanently

Deadpool > Every other comic character

My list, maybe the 24 character is just the starting roster?
1. Spider-Man
2. Iron Man
3. Hulk
4. Captain America
5. Dare Devil
6. Thing
7. Storm
8. Torch
9. Invisible Woman
10. Thor
11. Wolverine
12. Venom
13. Green Goblin
14. Mr. Fantastic
15. Thor (GI had a pic of him, not in-game but it's still proof)
16. Luke Cage (GI mentioned him while talking about the plot)
******
17. Deadpool
18. Cable
19. Nick Fury
20. Ghost Rider
21. Bullseye
22. Blade
23. Cyclops
24. Silver Surfer

Unlocked through Play:
War Machine
Hawkeye
Nightcrawler

Heroes Pack:
Beast, Elektra, Punisher, She-Hulk

Villains Pack:
Carnage, Doc Ock, Sabertooth, Dr. Doom

Console Exclsuives:
360- Master Chief & Marcus Fenix (Gears of War)
Wii- Link & Samus
PS3- Kratos & Snake

I think that it would be cooler to keep it Marvel characters than to copy Soul Calibur. Marvel already has like 10,000 characters, why do they need to throw in video game references and other characters from other things. To me that makes very little sense.

If there should be console exclusives they should be characters that make you proud to own the system you have

Console Exclusives:
360- Thanos
PS3- Adam Warlock
Wii- Blackheart

See? I'd much rather have a character that is powerful, awesome and would make sense in the universe than a story breaking character who only certain fans or fanboys/girls would enjoy.

Most of you are not buying this game because you're a video game fan. Overall, I think comic fans who play games will buy this game. That said, most comic fans would understand and enjoy playing as someone like Thanos or Madam Webb or Arana. However only certain people would like Link and Master Chief.

I don't mean to make this post sound like it's bashing that idea, but a lot of people it seems are talking about non-Marvel characters. It seems ridiculous to me considering how many Marvel characters were actually involved with this story arc tha tthe game is based off of.

...Actually, I'd love to play as either one of those three, but I wouldn't mind NOT playing as the other two. So it works. :X

I would feel disappointed if Deadpool, Cable, Nick Fury and Bullseye all made the cut. That's four characters wirh pretty similar play mechanics, I would feel like we all got the shaft.

I think the problem that will this series of games will always have is that all the fans want is more characters, and so to respond to this, the developers will put emphasis on the characters and fan pleasers over the actual gameplay. Sure its cool to be all these characters, but if theyre not done well, whats the point?

Personally, I would be happy with less characters if it meant more depth in combat and gameplay. I'd rather have 5-10 characters where i truly felt like i was playing as them, instead of 30+ generic punchers and clone characters. I'm sure i'll be crucified for this comment, but as long as everyone is forums like these is shouting for characters, thats all they'll deliver... Can someone please shout "Better Gameplay!"

Luckily there will oly be 24 characters this time, hopefully they will each feel unique and accurate to their individual styles

I agree with Wolvieboy17...plus, this is Vicarious Visions we're talking about. I don't think they're up to a task as large as a sequel to 2006's best superhero game...I just don't.

The game's wikipedia page, while obviously not 100% fact, currently lists 15 characters that have been mentioned.

Of those 15, only 1 (Green Goblin) was not available in some fashion in the first game (the rest were either base characters, unlockables, or downloads).

If the limit really is going to be 24, then that's completely and utterly ridiculous.

Well I'm addicted to UA1, I need UA2 to progress my addiction to the next level. So, UA2 won't be versus Galactus? I'd like to see Ultimate Alliance:The Infinity Gauntlet versus Thanos.

Not this time unfortunatley, but maybe part 3 will be the Infinity Gauntlet game it seems like everyone wants.

Like I said earlier, I think the power 'fusion' or whatever is just an excuse to put way less characters in the game.

To be honest, it wasn't really all that great. Tons of bugs, clones, horrid AI and stupid game elements like everyone using their extreme attacks at the same time. IMO XML1&2 were superior to MUA.

It's going to suck for the simple fact that they are releasing for last gen consoles.

I'm just going by the facts, it's one of Activison's best selling games of 06, is all. But the reason it'll probably suck is Vicarious Visions...they have ideas..but they don't always go well in-game.

aka the PS2. They really need to just outsource that to a different developer to do, like they did with Spiderman 3

oh so true that.
but....Kratos? Snake? Master Chief? they're ain't Marvel. I doubt we would be seeing them as an extra.

They were going to have LInk & Samus in the Wii MUA1. Plus Marvel does Halo comics. He could have special t-bagging power.

so would I. I even mentioned it already. and...if you make all the tasks in MUA1, Thanos appears briefly in the ending sequence. they talk something about he wanting to invade Earth.

really?
wow. I didn't know. but it's hard to imagine Halo in a Marvel superhero game. he ain't from the same universe
