Oh, so she's not the co-leader of the Marvel Adventures Avengers, isn't she?

why is storm IN the M.A.avengers anyway
wolverine i can see since he in the mu version but why storm?

Because they needed the most important, most representative, most well-known female on the MU :p

That doesn't mean anything. That comic isn't very popular, nor does it even represent the mainstream Avengers.

No, but it needed very well known heroes in order to introduce them to younglings. And they chose Ororo because she is the single most known heroine. You might argue about janet, but it's tradition for the Avengers to have a Giant Person, and since they were no other girls on the team they chose Jan instead of Hank, but it was mere happenstance.

So who's Marvel Top Heroine Now?? www.marvelkids.com

Looks like nobody. In the selectable heroes they only name She-Hulk and Spider-Girl. Storm doesn't get named next to the Marvel Kids logo. But when we scroll to the X-Men, it's Cyclops who represents them. And Jean Grey gets a footnote down the page.

But in the overall site the only female to be present, even if she doesn't get a "click" is Ororo, there is no Invisible Woman anywhere, she's right there, next to the logo. What more do you need? I guess Invisible WOman is on the other side of the logo, she's just Invisible that's why we can't see her

I never said the Invisible Woman is Marvel Flagship female. I don't think any of them are so far. But on that website it's obvious any illustrated art can be placed next to the Marvel Kids logo. If it were permanent it would look more like this classic Marvel logo. Remember this?

It's amazing what tiny little things fans will seize on to believe their favorite characters are at the top of the heap...

Meh, I definitely don't see Invisible Woman being the flagship female. You see Storm (and I don't mean Sue Storm) in more of Marvel's video games, and she's been in far more televised shows than Sue as well as on merchandise.
Storm is definitely the flagship female, hands down. Jean Grey, Mary Jane, and Invisible woman are close though.

The TV argument still doesn't hold. There have been more FF cartoon series than X-Men over the past three decades. There have also been as many Jean Grey toys as there have been of Storm.

Storm is just the more interesting character imo thats marvel strenghs imo, character over godlike power (that means you DC) a Black African woman being probably the most recognised of all there female heroes and she never felt tacked on to fill an ethnic gap and her race is never (nearly) mentioned just her acheivements and character.

As far as popularity and public recognizability, how can anyone argue that Storm has this one locked down several times over? Over my lifetime I've seen more people dressed as Storm (including Universal Studios cast members), more commercial appearances, more marketing of the black woman with white hair and certainly more Storm-centric episodes of various cartoon series over the years, to say nothing of a central role in a very popular movie trilogy, something no one else on the list has. Invisible Woman, for all her seniority doesn't have that. Bottom line: Marvel has been using Storm as their flagship female, whether they've claimed her or not. I'm very thankful they have, because she's a great character and deserves the spot... I don't think the Marvel Universe would be where it is without her.

Now someone said Ms. Marvel "feels iconic." - I ask "What the heck does that mean?" Marvel is pushing Ms. Marvel, that's clear... they want her to be their flagship female... that makes me wonder: "What's wrong with Storm being the flagship female like she has been?" -but it's their company, they are allowed to choose whatever by whatever standards they deem are worthy. They are legally allowed to be stupid.

On the second part, you made an incorrect assumption. Toy Biz's X-Men Evolution is just one of the many toy lines that had Storm action figures with NO Jean Grey action figures. On the first part, The X-Men cartoon series are (without exception) higher rated and last longer, giving them more exposure. Furthermore, they all have multiple storm-centric episodes. Contrarily, the short lived, critically panned, unpopular F4 cartoons do not have Sue-centric episodes (none that I've ever seen... have you seen one?) That's why the TV arguement still holds all the water in the world.

C'mon guys, they make Storm HALLOWEEN costumes... for kids! In the all-white pantsuit style... that's GOT to tell you how popular this character is... when have you ever seen a Jean Grey costume outside of a Comic book Convention? Or a IW costume NOT in the style of the movie?

That said, while IW has seniority, according her a degree of respect, and Ms. Marvel is Marvel's current flagship character, Storm has been the defacto Flagship female for YEARS, and is certainly the most recognizable, with IW a distant second (mostly because she has no outstanding visual characteristic other than her costume) and the others not even rating in the public conciousness. Seriously, ask your bus driver or teacher who Ms. Marvel is (or who the Avengers are for that matter)... then ask them who Storm is. You may have to give them a clue you're talking about superheroes, or they'll talk about the weather though.

Please, open your eyes. If being the flagship female is a question of recognizability (which is, y'know what FLAGSHIPS were used for) and branding and marketing, then there's no one on that list who can even think of holding a candle to Storm. No matter how much fanboys like them or how much their comic sells (Well, unless it sells tens of millions of copies).

I'm not going into who's the flagship female because, obviously, the last 9 pages of this thread have done nothing but prove that people's opinion of that comes down to their own prejudices and preferences. I just wanted to point out the inherent contradiction here with Dark lauding character above power with Storm, who is one of the most powerful characters in Marvel's repertoire. They're not mutually exclusive concepts; good characters can have a lot of power and terrible characters can have **** for powers. :o

You've become fascinated with Damiean Dark's opinions, haven't you?

 Fantastic Four had one more tv series than X-men, but one of them flopped in it's ratings 10 episodes in. The other FF series also did not last as long or get as much premiere time as the three X-men series have.

Then X-men recieved more movies with better reveiws and profits than the two FF movies so far, and are getting a new tv series again.

However, originally I would say Jean Grey was the flagship female for Marvel, but lately she seems to have been shafted in the media for Storm.

It's not something the human mind is built to comprehend. Let it go, for your own good.

It doesn't matter. It has been animated more time since the 60's. So if you want to talk about cartoons then Sue Storm has gotten more visibility in the long run than Storm.

Also the next X-Men cartoon will be lead by Wolverine, not Storm. And it features the White Queen who will undoubtedly get lots of attention.

Sorry GL, but you're just blowing hot air. I have never seen those supposed Halloween costumes of Storm. I have never seen anybody dress up as Storm outside of a Comic Book Convention. I've seen lots of Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and Batgirl costumes. But who wouldn't dress up as them?

As for the Storm centric episodes that doesn't fly either. Jean Grey still got a lot of story spotlight in both the first series and the Evolution series. Her Phoenix plot and romance with Cyclops helped her in that regard. She got the same advantage in the last two X-Men films. Invisible Woman only had three other teammates to share the screen with so any viewer would know her name quickly. If one sees Storm in a commerical, it's only to promote the X-Men.

As for the toys, nope, I still haven't seen that many Storm toys to say she is a flagship female. It doesn't matter if Jean Grey wasn't in the Evolution series. She's been in the movie merchandise, the X-Factor merchandise, 12-inch dolls series, and others that only collectors would notice. That still doesn't make her or Storm the Marvel flagship heroine.

To be a flagship character, Marvel has to consciously promote that heroine with the company image. Just like they did for Spider-Man when they did this:
