But you'd still rate him an 8/10.
I never understood the hate for Raiden. I got that people wanted more Snake, which I understand, and the protagonist swift was very jarring, but this deep hatred of a overall decent character always escaped me.

Solid Snake was a chain smoking, gravely voiced, unshaven veteran soldier who was already a legend by the time we played MGS1. And, he would hit on pretty much any chick who wasn't trying to kill him at the time. Until they actually tried to, that is.
Compare that with the androgynistic, often whiny (his dialogue sometimes had him freak out over how crazy the mission was getting), young rookie who looks like he couldn't grow any facial hair, who also had his own girlfriend annoy most players...I mean, compare that with the other, and it kinda makes sense when you also consider that he came out of nowhere. Not even giving the fans a chance to divide before the game started, and maybe start a Raiden camp or something...it makes sense.
I cannot see how bad that was handled happening with Mass Effect 3. I really...just really can't see it happening.
The Mass Effect universe will expand with a direct-to-video anime film in the summer of 2012. The film will be co-produced by Japanese animation house T.O. Entertainment, and FUNimation Entertainment -- the same company that hooked up with EA for the Dragon Age anime (due sometime this year). BioWare's sci-fi series joins Halo and Dante's Inferno in the very specific category of western-developed games that provide the basis for anime adaptations.
This movie represents another drop in the Mass Effect transmedia bucket, which currently contains several novels, comics and plans for a Hollywood venture. There's no word yet on the plot -- or how, exactly, Shepard will be drawn this time.
Eh. I still think the overall reaction was pretty silly, and Raiden was a pretty good character, with his flaws often over exaggeratedand taken out of context.
I hope the Mass Effect anime isn't about Shepard. The ME universe is large enough to tell more stories not revolving around Shepard.
My body is ready.
But my Shepard is a she.
I just take solace that my Shepard and her voice (oh God, especially her voice) is vastly superior to that impostor. Oh, and I won't be buying either, so I'll save my imagination, thank you![]()
Nope, I've no issue with FemShep's existence or her validity or anything like that but I really didn't dig her perfomance in ME2, but I wouldn't go and bash her on account of that.
I wouldn't mind Shepard making a brief cameo appearance if they frame him just right so his head is out of frame.
But I do hope Garrus is a prominent character in it, if not the lead.
