No, Bettany would nail the Joker. I don't care what any deluded Bat fan has to say.
Its great, but the best ever? not imo. Still, it gets a solid 9/10 from me.
Eh, still have Bettany fatigue from the Bat-boards.
I don't think after Heath made the role his own, Bettany will get a chance to do it any time soon.
Actually, it was considered a major disappointment at the box office, and I heard they were supposedly gonna do sequels (it was based on 1 in a series of books, after all) until it "bombed." But you're right, it was very well-received by critics. It just never really made a splash with the mainstream at all. Hence, underrated. It's so strange that this movie is considered "under-rated" now, because it did well at the box office when it came out, and it did very well with critics. Then people just sorta...forgot about it.
I was under the impression that Crowe still wanted to do another movie anyway, regardless of whether he was signed. The other (and probably main) reason it didn't get a sequel was because Crowe didn't sign for one. Bettany did, Weir probably did, but Crowe did not.
Its nice to see so many hypesters have an appreciation for this movie. IMHO it never got the wide acceptance it earned or deserved. It won two Oscars and was nominated for like, everything else under the sun.
Its the original Star Trek prequel.t:
