So E.T. is one of the best films ever made...

I see it all the time on these boards. If something lost a Hypesters interest in the first minute, it was "unbelievably overrated". Forget about the artistry and talent that went into, or the thousand shades of orgasmicly mindblowing character nuance. It just "didn't hold my attention", rendering everything else moot.

Damn ADD generation.

We live in a sad world.

What's worse is it's not just these boards, it seems to be the general movie going audience these days.:o

ET is crap.
Watch Enter the Dragon, that is a good film.

Wow, how insightful. JLBats should owe a great deal of gratitude for proving his point.

Gosh, I hate my generation. :(

Gohs, I hate my generation.

You should see the arguments this guy is laying down in the "My Name Is Bruce" thread.

I didn't expect much intelligence from a guy who answered me with "R U A ******?!"

Judging from his film comparison of ET to Enter the Dragon, I surmised that he's constantly dueling with logic. That's a dangerous thing to do.

Damn, I owe my gf ten quid now she bet me that you (or someone) would make that exact same comment before I even opened the thread.

Some of you guys are soo stiff and predictable, its called humour, lighten up.

Also how do you know I am of the same generation as you? there may very well be a ten year difference. Some peeps here are in their 50's.

As you said, it's the ADD generation (Lol, I actually suufer from ADHD). There's kids in my grade who I want to punch every time he says "System Of A Down are the best band ever" or "Employee Of The Month looks mad funny" or "Goodfellas had poor pacing despite being a great movie". I feel like such an outcast sometimes. Ever feel the same way?

Well, your arguments are of the quality you'd expect from someone of our generation, maybe even lower, so it really doesn't matter what your real age is.

Owned.
you just ignored what I said, so how old are you anyway byatch?

Apples are crap.
Eat oranges, they are good fruit.

E.T. is an amazing film, and I would rate it as the greatest family film of all time. There isn't a better example of a movie where a director poured 110% of his heart into it. The thing is, anyone of any age can enjoy it, and it may be that the older people would enjoy it more since it brings back sentimental feelings and memories that kids are unable to do as of yet.

I'd put The Wizard Of Oz ahead of E.T., but E.T. is definitely up there, at least in the Top 10.

Come to think of it, it's actually been quite some time since I've watched it. I need to get the dvd.

16.

And the fact that use such infantile modern day teenage slang such as "byatch" doesn't really add much to your credibility. It's quite sad.

hahahha, dude u are funny, this is the internet get a life.
I am 26.

Thus we are not of the same generation.
You are of the My Chemical Romance generation, and I am of the Pantera generation.
Very different.

I however choose to live in the mindframe of a different generation. I'm a 16 year old preserver of the Led Zeppelin generation. I express nothing but contempt toward My Chemical Generation and their mindblowingly asstastic brand of emo drivel.

ET isn't crap, but it's miles off being the best film ever.

No one said it was. Man, does anyone read anymore?

Trying to convince somebody that they are immature is thankless. The mind develops over time and experience is the real stimulator for maturity. Someday I am sure "Dangerous" will look back on the things he has said and done and realize that, yes, he was pretty damn immature. So, for the most part, it is best not to get into a spat with people like him.
