So E.T. is one of the best films ever made...

the story, the acting, the score, the photography, the message, the visual effects....all brilliant. This is one of my favorite films and in my opinion, ranks among the greatest ever made.

Good but overrated movie. Close Encounters was far better. One of the best Sci fi movies, but not the greatest movie ever by any means.

ET was a masterpiece that burned itself into your psyche....really beautiful film. However the anniversary version with the slapped in CGI is pretty ****ing unwatchable.

Oh yes I definitely agree on that. What a bull**** move.

Some of it looks good, most notably when ET is running at the beginning. In the original version it was just a red light that just sort of moved evenly across the screen. The updated version has ET moving anatomically correct and I like that better. Also they did a lot to enhance his lip movement, which I think helps sell the effect. But, I do agree, some of the shots do not look very good.

Just seemed like another way to cash in.

this was a great movie!

i just hate that they digitaly changed the guns to walkie talkies in the speciel edition dvd

E.T is great. Though, I don't see what the big deal is about them changing the guns to walkie talkies. Big deal. Still doesn't effect the movie.

I saw it in the theater in its original run at least twice...and it scared the sh** outta me both times. That creepy hand brushing away a tree at the start, the cornfield scene, the astronaut staring down Dee Wallace at the doorway...when I was five years old, that movie was not fun.

Of course, times change. :woot:

I think it needed some Greg Kinnear.
