Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. I bet there is hate!

there was nothing wrong about Surviving Christmas:cmad:

Damon is the much MUCH better actor. And yes you can see it when he is in movies like Syriana,, The Departed (though that was really DiCaprio's show), The Bourne movies, Saving Private Ryan, etc.

Affleck though starting with some good choices (his stint in his own written Good Will Hunting, his scene-stealing role in Shakespere in Love and his Kevin Smith movies, Chasing Amy and Dogma anyway) has made some terrible choices that either A) display his limitations (Pearl Harbor) or B) are bad movies that make him look even more limited (Gigli, Reindeer Games, Armageddon, Peral Harbor again, Paycheck, Surviving Christmas).

But in all honesty Affleck is a decent actor and stands a good chance to be nominated for his brilliant turn as George Reeves in Hollywoodland so I wouldn't just count him out. He just needs to stick to strong smaller roles like this before attempting a major lead anytime soon and he'll get his career back then.

And no, I doubt they hate each other as a couple of Boston kids who won an Oscar together, I think they're stronger than the Hollywood system really.

Hate eachother? Doubtful. Not if they truely are best friends.

As for Affleck, everyone here is too harsh. Sure, a bunch of fanboys on the internet might think he sucks, but fanboys on the internet are not the entire world. Both Pearl Harbor and Armageddon have done just fine- and even though us "internet message board" types might rack on them they are certainly passable entertaining mainstream films, and he did just fine in both of them. Additionally, anyone who hates Jersey Girl or his performance in it are just showing their imaturity, as it is an excellent & touching film. One of the most realistic "Family films" I've seen, basically ever.

i'm not to harsh

i'd like it noted that Ben FRICKEN Affleck owns my soul, i blame his prefomance in mallrats....he won me over with his preformance of wanting to screw women in a very uncomfortable place....after Dare devil i was hooked....

also Jeresy Girl is a good film, damn anyone to hell who says other wise!!

The Fleck was smart in taking a year off of acting. He is getting huge acclaim and even Oscar buzz for Hollywoodland. He is on the come back trail.

Affleck is still in the greatest movie ever, and Matt isn't.

you want an award? well you can;t have one:cmad: :cmad:
:(

Anyway, to get back on topic, I don't see why there would be any bad blood between them. Affleck's career is on the upslide at the moment, and I think they're both pretty talented actors.

I think it's more than just internet fanboys apathetic toward Affleck when you look at the string of recent bombs he starred in.

Damon on the other hand has established himself as the legitimate actor and movie star by far and become a proven BO draw. He's also managed to avoid the Hollywood romances and keeps his private life private.

I don't HATE Ben Affleck. He comes across on talk shows as a pretty grounded - sometimes goofy - nice guy that just happens to be a movie star.

But I don't think he is a very good actor. His best performance was in Good Will Hunting (IMO) - every role since is not terrible - but now good.

And I don't think there's any hatred between Damon and Affleck.

You guys remember a flashback on Family Guy where Damon is doing all the hard work in the script for Good Will Hunting and Affleck just cares about smoking pot?

Matt Damon is awesome.

"[watching The Bourne Identity] Y'know, I always thought that Matt Damon was like a Streisand, but he's rocking the sh1t in this one!"

It's on the previous page lol.

I wonder when they'll do a project together again, I get a fuzzy feeling inside whenever I see them both on screen at the sametime.

I like them both, and think they are both talented. I'd like to see them do another project together.

Apparently they ARE doing another project together. I forget what it's called, but it's about a real-life trial. They will both portray lawyers...and that's all the details I remember.
