It's a promotional shot, so for what it is, I really like it.

I've pretty much watched the trailer at least twice a day since it came out.

I'm hooked, come on Max! Break that VG to Movie curse!

Do you think that if this film is succesful, that they will announce a third game?

it has already been mentioned as a game they want to revisit in the future possibly.

However, Take-Two have recently suggested that there will indeed be a Max Payne 3 at some point. While Take-Two didn't announce the game during its conference call, it has brought the franchise up regularly as examples of its stable of owned intellectual properties

Awesome pic!

I don't know what to feel atm.

They're advertising it in the same way as Hitman, down to the pictures, shots of him in game-like poses. I was pretty (well, very) pissed at the changes they made to Hitman, and can't see them making the same mistakes with MP, since they have had control since the start, so it's likely they'll deliver with MP after making Hitman fans suffer their crappy studio version of Hitman.

I feel very betrayed, stupid Fox with their crappy edits.

That being said, I still think there's a chance it could turn out pretty poor, Fox advertised Hitman with great footage/pictures, but cut most of it in the end. They really are a terrible studio and don't deserve to adapt games like this.

When I first heard about this film I thought t was gonna' bomb hard and the producers would have learnt a valuable lesson about financing video game films. But judging from the trailer this looks like the movie that could actually break the video game to movie curse. But it has to be R rated even though Marky Mark himself said it was PG-13.

I haven't played any of the games, but many people that have, is complaining about the same stuff: the supernatural aspect of the story. I'm reading the script that was posted, it looks consistent with everything we heard, and so far (I'm on pag 50) it seems that there is some sort of black magic, or something like that, killing people... What do you (if you played the games) feel about that?

It's not, it's PG-13.

He said so, Mila Kunis said so, and it's Fox. I don't know how XG managed to convince Fox to let him go with an R rating, even though he was asked to make it a PG-13.

there is no black magic, supernatural aspect, when you get to certain parts in the script its actually Valkryies (Norse Mythology winged beast things) which are actually hallucanations caused by the drug thus why the name of the drug, Valkyr.

In the game there are brief references to Norse Mythology:
Max Payne takes place at night during aseemingly endless snowstorm, and contains many references to Ragnarok, the Norse end of the world, during which the world is swallowed by snow and darkness. One of the levels takes place in a night club called Ragna Rock. While inside of Ragna Rock, Max comes across a book entitled The Age of Murder and Storm, which mentions "Norse mythos and Ragnarok". Max himself wears a Sun crossOdin, known for his prowess in battle. pendant, the symbol of the chief Norse god
Many of the characters and objects in the game are named after Norse gods; the drug that forms the basis of the plot is called Valkyr, after the goddesses who brings slain heroes to Valhalla, a name given to another location in the game.

Cool, that's great! I was pretty tired of those haters :)

MAX PAYNE: A DARK, NOIR ACTION FILM RIDDLED WITH SEX, GUNPLAY, AND UBER VIOLENCE...

Don't quite agree, Max Payne (first one) has strong violence but not gory super graphic violence, sex wise there ain't much, references yes but no actual sex. Dark Noir you can get in a PG-13, you can get a decent amount of violence in a PG-13, you can get sex in a PG-13 as long as it's not nudity or too graphic (neither of which Max Payne has), & drugs this is the only thing I think they will have to cut down on a lot, you can still get drugs in a PG-13 but in Max Payne it is a focal point throughout the game.

So I say it can be done while still true to the original source material though I would prefer a R rated film.

I watched The Dark Knight last night, and if that was PG-13, then rating don't mean anything as far as disturbing violence (it wasn't gory, but I wouldn't take anyone under 13 years old to watch it)

I'm not saying it's going to suck...it actually looks very promising. But a Max Payne film really should not be rated PG-13, if you ask me.

The only thing this could require over PG-13 is some sex scene or something like that.

I only meant its possible as PG-13 with all the content (violence, sex, drugs), though I'd much rather it be R rated.

The pic in a little better resolution, with that damn watermark from IGN.com

damn saw that version this morning, I want bigger resolution now damn it, my desktop's looking boring with anything else other than Max Payne.

used a mixture of ReShade program to increase size without too much loss, then PS CS3 to erase the IGN Logo:
