Max Payne

I liked the movie. Mark Wahlberg was badass as Max.

Quite pleasantly surprised by this.. The script wasn't the best but i enjoyed the action and the cinamatography was good. I ain't played the games but even if the angels were'nt in them, I thought they were a cool aspect and were pulled off to nice effect. Wahlberg was alright and as I say, really, the only bad thing I have to say is about the script and a few cheesy/cliche lines/moments... but on the whole, a rather enjoyable flick.

seeing this movie made me have no faith in hollywood, how can you mess up a storyline so good

The tv spots were cool and ppl who haven't gone to the website yet should check it out but the film was an absolute dud. Mila Kunis literally served no purpose in the film which was just dull and boring.

who edited this movie?
a 5 yr old blind boy...with no hands? the editing was pathetic.
as always there is something missing in this movie. ohhhi know it. its bad editing to shorten the movie to the classic ''1:35''.
i watched in hte last week 3 FOX movies. all had an exact runtime. and ouy knwo what? twoof them were characten driven movies. but NOOOOOO it has to be 1:30.

I just got back from seeing this at the dollar show and, maybe it was because it was the dollar show, but it sucked.

First of all, it was nothing like the video game. Secondly, I couldn't follow the storyline at all. I mean, yeah we knew Max had a bad past with his wife and child being murdered but that was it. The villains weren't built up at all and I had trouble accepting Jackie(I mean Mila Kunis) as this bad ass broad. All in all, my disappointment was possibly due to my hopes for the movie because I really liked the game.

So far, hollywoods video game adaptations have been not good. The best one I can recall is the 'Resident Evil' series. I hope Hollywood stays away from 'Metal Gear' and even 'Warcraft.'

I believe the major problem with video game adaptations like 'Doom' and 'Max Payne' and 'Street Fighter' is that they are rushing them along. Alot of these games take days, even weeks, to complete and they are trying to cram the whole thing into 120 minutes. Maybe they aren't giving the games enough respect or maybe giving too much.

Boy, did this movie suck. It was stupid, boring, and the acting was piss poor. And this is coming from a fan of the game. To think I thought that when it was announced that Wahlberg would be Max Payne that it would be awesome. I thought wrong. And why was Ludacris dressed like Eddie f***ing Valiant in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"?

7/10

Not the best piece of cinema, but a solid action flick.

I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. I liked the score and music featured in the film as well. Olga Kurylenko, my god, smoking hot. The scene after the end credits leaves it open for a sequel.

I thought the problem was that they didn't exploit the gunfights' wow factor from the games. In a sense, the movie that did that was Shoot Em Up but it wasn't much of an achievement either.

Thought that was a big issue as well.

Not too bad, Whalberg was badass. I didn't even mind Ludacris. A Little to short and felt very rushed.

Didn't even notice that it was Chris O'Donnell....Wow.

Just watched this movie on DVD. Decent action flick on its own, but it was a complete butchering of the game - could've been so much better and so much more faithful to the game.

I noticed the credits gave no mention of being based on the game, what an insult!

Movie was really boring. Only thing that stood out was the lighting.

My thoughts exactly. At least after I watched I played both games to remember how great they were and how much the movie's plot sucked compared to the first game.

i only ever played the game one time, any my best memory from it is him jumping sideways shooting 2 pistols...where was that in the movie? it should have been. anyways, yea, this movie was lame. i had hopes for it, but it just turned out to be a lame druggie movie. there were no real valkyries, just stupid illusions. the trailer for this movie, like S MANY OTHERS, was so misleading. they make it sound like max payne stumbles upon the devils plans and all this stuff, with his minions and whatnot...very misleading. i thought mark walhberg was good in the role, but the story just sucked. although, i found it highly amusing when max took the drugs and how he looked crazed as he was slaughtering all those guys lol.
