I think in the script that was exactly the case... I think I remember that she might also say it 'cause the guy was "fighting" his allucinations...

Yeah your correct, that's exactly what it means when reading the script.

Really quite anxious to see how they've handled the hallucinations, getting rather tired of the theories. Come on, bring on the Payne already!

The article says he is re-cutting it for a PG-13.

wow. Well he is right about fox being really mad about it. I mean now fox is gonna go to any lengths to get a pg-13 rating which means the movie will be edited heavily and hence we will end up with a disjointed and choppy movie. I do agree with the fact that MPAA are run by morons and TDK frankly speaking should be R rated thanks to Harvey Dent scene. But ya i guess they did suck WB and Chris Nolan's ****. Maybe they were lenient on the film due to Heath's death.

I wish it was a Hard R. But im stll antipating it.

well i cant really say anything because i havent seen max payne..
but the fact still stands that the MPAA is run by a bunch of *****e's...

i agree with everything john moore said.

**** happens...
cant wait to see how fox reacts..lol

^ they'll react by cutting out everything the looks or resembles anything R and turning it into 75 minute soup. :cwink:

Man, that's gotta be frustrating. They can't just rate the movie R just because it "feels dark"; what a load of ****.

You can, actually. Subject material and film tonality could lead to an R rating without much violence and gore at all.

the film does have a dark tone to it not to mention we see flying demons lol

John Moore seems to care more about the PG-13 rating than about the movie itself!

Saw the trailer again today when I went to the movies. I understand all those demons were supposed to be his(after reading the thread),and I've only played the first Max Payne. To be honest if u never played the games and no nothing about the movie, and u saw that trailer you would of thinked it was a Constentine rip-off.

I don't even know why you would want a PG-13 rating for Max Payne. I mean, it's got to be hard-boiled and bloody. This John Moore is one arrogant *****. Seems like the Fox execs have found their fav director. Guy has never done anything outside of the Fox studios.

Indeed.

What's even worse is that if they can't re-submit Payne, they'll start toning down an already PG-13 movie.

I can't wait for Tom Rothman to get kicked outta Fox. They're screwing up lots of movies.

^ or Tom Rothman will kick out everyone from Fox because he think they're all screwing up his movies. :csad:

why are they making a pg film about an adult rated game?

it makes no sense unless it is ultimately holding the gaming world responsible for getting younger children to play its games

anyone under a certain age shouldn't be anywhere near a max payne game and marketing the film to them won't help because they won't be able to play the game either.

ridiculous...

This makes no sense.

Why make a PG-13 based off a M-rated video game?(oh yeah, Fox:whatever:)

I never or rarely care about ratings but Max Payne shoot-em-up with blood flying everywhere.

Hopefully, we will get an Unrated DVD.

Meh... at this point I don't even care about an Unrated DVD. They'll probably digitally add blood like they did with Live Free or Die Hard. Damn Fox. I hate them.

My problem with this as a gamer and film fan is that the director and studio have taken one of the first good M rated story driven games and decided it needs to be PG-13. This is one of the reasons that game movies rarely achieve the greatness they clearly could.

With films like 300 embracing there R ratings and still making boat loads of money at the box office and on dvd sales why are studios still so afraid of the R rating?
