Oh..I think he means use the Goblin without an origin, kind of like the way Christopher Nolan does the villains in his Batman films.

hmm , i thought that there was a origin story behind 2 face , or am i wrong ?
First off, how am I a hypocrite if I want GG/Gwen Stacy's Death in the third film? I just don't think the director is obligated to use him at all in the trilogy, regardless of OsCorp or Norman Osborn be present. Second, I wasn't surprised they didn't use The Lizard, Connors' character was spliced with Otto Octavius. Second, the tone and subject matter would NOT have served The Lizard well in the previous films, so I'm glad he didn't show up.Didn't you get upset that Lizard was never used? Wouldn't that make you a hypocrite if you wouldn't use Green Goblin but have Norman Osborn in the mix?

There is hypocrisy going on here, as fanboys bellow out that Sony/Avi Arad forced Venom on the vision of Raimi. Now, here we are doing the exact same thing to the new director.
No, he must not, where's the rule book that says Norman has to become Green Goblin, especially after they've spent almost a decade on three films dedicated to the Goblins. Again, I'm not saying that I don't want to see the Green Goblin in ASMIII, because I do, as long as it's the Death of Gwen Stacy story. But the director is not obligated nor should be forced by fanboys to do so.Well you're mentioning how Norman can just be there and not become Green Goblin which is something I think no fan wants to see. If Norman is there and if OsCorp plays an important role with the films, then GG MUST become the villain in the third film. To not do such would be a spat on the face to miss such a chance to not go for the death of Gwen Stacy.
Possibly, but after SM3, I say no he couldn't. It's not a dark movie that allows you to do The Lizard. It's a more serious approach to the tone and subject matters that allows you to do The Lizard. And with Lizard, Raimi could possibly have done Lizard and still made him dark, but he never wanted to leave the light-heartedness atmosphere and that's why we just saw Connors and no Lizard. It's not that I doubt Raimi could do it, he just never did because he focused these films for kiddies.
Sure, dark mixed with cheesy elements where they need not be, and going soft where there should be serious subject matters. No cigar.I mean, c'mon, look at his past films, we are aware of how Sam Raimi can be pretty dark.
Guess what, if we continue to tell Webb that you must include Green Goblin and the Death of Gwen Stacy, how are we any different from Sony/Arad?Sony and Arad did push Venom and the symbiote towards Raimi, BUT I will say that Raimi did coward down in actually using Venom and the symbiote and to use those elements in a poor manner.

Maybe it will. But if you've already written it in stone, you could be highly disappointed if that's not where the director wants to go.I believe the Death of Gwen Stacy will definitely play a part if Green Goblin shows up. Imo, it's almost inevitable when you have the cornerstone characters.
Nope, Darkman's tone was overall cheesy.Evil Dead, sure, I can bring up some cheesy moments from that film, but Darkman? I can't think of any on the top of my head and I LOVE that film...possibly my favorite Sam Raimi-directed movie.
In that case, no, I'm 100% sure Raimi couldn't do a Lizard film. And I don't think there would be any cheesy moments in a Lizard film, just some humor to keep parts of the film lighter, which would be necessary as I assume the scenes with Lizard would get dark and gritty at times. And, when I mean dark, I do mean a more serious tone. That's what I am referring to, such as when I mention the word 'dark' to films like Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. You know, I wish we'd get more darker films just so I won't have to sound like the typical poster who makes mention of Nolan's films, lol.
You do realize that Avi Arad told Raimi that the FANS really want to see Venom. And with Sony thinking that Avi Arad has his hands on the pulse of what the FANS wanted, he pushed the idea of Venom on the director. Of course, he could have said no Venom or I'm gone, but that's another story. All we need is for Marc Webb/James Vanderbilt to have a different idea for a trilogy, and then being forced to change them to incorporate GG/Gwen's Death into it. Then we've got another mess on our hands. How?
Because we are naturally giving our opinions, not pushing the idea down someone's throat as Sony and Avi Arad did with Raimi. We here on these forums have the right to make a statement and opinion that using Green Goblin is very logical for this series, as it is since OsCorp will be playing a factor as Webb has already mentioned and the fact that Gwen Stacy is even in this series as well. To just pass something that would become a great moment in cinema history would be very foolish if you ask me.
And besides...who's telling Webb anything? Does he find ideas for villains and storylines on here? I doubt it, lol.

And yes, Green Goblin/Gwen's Death is a great story to tell and we all want to see it, I get that part.

Link me up Uncle Alfie.
A departure from his usual films, director Marc Webb talks comics, the "Gwen Stacy Saga" and a 3D Spider-Man.
Agreed. What's more is, why include Oscorp in this if Norman or the Green Goblin won't be introduced at some point? It doesn't make sense either.
