Masterclass lol.

If Manny was a couple inches taller Floyd would be toast.
48-0 though he lost at the olympics doesn't mean he is a better fighter than a boxer who did end up losing because Floyd evaded Manny at his peak because he was afraid of losing. He accepted it 5 years later when he knew Manny lost his touch, his speed. Manny relies more on that than Floyd who is more of a technical, defensive tactically sound boxer.

Boxing has really gone downhill last 15 years. I remember when it was all about boxing. Now it's all about image.

Overall a huge disappointment. It was so evident Floyd would win by decision.
It didn't take long for that excuse. Poor Manny had to take a blood test and lost. :funny:

These excuses are hilarious, 'if Manny was taller' LOL I thought Manny was supposed to overwhelm Floyd with his superior power and punch volume?

You thought wrong.

5 years ago maybe.

Can't wait for Klitschko & Mayweather retire from boxing. They are great boxers but people want entertainment.

Did you expect Floyd Mayweather, a renowned counter puncher & defensive fighter, to go into the ring in his 48th, change his style completely & brawl with Manny Pacquiao or allow him to walk him down?

Mayweather is a completely different animal to the Klitschko brothers.

I am not saying he is multidimensional. I am saying they had a strategy and Manny couldn't pull it off. I have heard Roach talk about this fight constantly for two months. He knew what Manny had to do, and Manny couldn't do it. Manny is a short guy, who while fast, isn't faster then Floyd. Floyd is as fast, has faster hands, and had the size and strength advantage. Floyd's length by itself neutralized a lot of Manny's abilities.

Everybody has a strategy but I've never seen Pacquiao as a strategic fighter. He's always relied on his physical traits and talents to win fights. Whenever an opposing fighter decrypted Manny's gameplans, he didn't appear as effective. Like I said, it's easy to come into a fight with a certain tactic but if you don't have a Plan B or a Plan C, then you're boned. That's what I saw tonight. Mayweather's style played a factor into neutralizing Pacquiao but the fact that Manny and his corner didn't have ANY adjustments for Mayweather was telling.

For the love of god, there was a point in the fight where Pacquiao resorted to just headhunting. He forgot (or perhaps chose to ignore) going to the body completely.

The guy actually said if Manny was taller :lmao::lmao::lmao:
Manny's height was an issue. I always thought it would be. Floyd's too long and good at keeping distance. The same happened with Marquez. It is a horrible excuse though. It isn't like this wasn't apparent years ago. Manny wasn't going to magically grow. :funny:

5 years ago it would have been the same IMO. Manny was better 5yrs ago but so was Floyd. So the result is gonna be the same.

Manny is physically gifted, but why he has been so successful is how he has utilized his style. Is he cerbral? No. But his movement and the different ways he uses it, is strategic. In some fights he prefers his left straight or right hook. Marquez is a brilliant fighter, but even he looked lost against Floyd.

And Manny started head hunting, because he kept on getting smacked for going to the body. Too much distance to cover.

Ah such class. But then again what can you expect from ''money'' fans.
I am a fan of both men. But I wasn't the one who came in here crying because Manny was embarrassed.

Pacman hasn't been able to do that late for years. Even before Marquez gave me my favorite boxing moment ever. Even since he got smaller somehow, he hasn't had the stamina. I wonder why...

~cough COUGH *roids* COUGH cough~

Pacquiao needed this fight 5 years ago, when he had a lot of momentum & hype behind him. But in those last 5 years he's had 2 loses, 1 of which was a violent KO.

I think the result still would have been the same anyway, but Pacquiao needed the fight to happen 5 years ago when he had the wind in his sails.

And that's what solidified the notion to me that Pacquiao never had the goods to stop Mayweather in the first place. He was always gonna get smacked for going to the body but he had to stay on it in order to have chance. Even after some nice shots, Manny chose to opt out of the body.

Horrible decision.

I agree with you completely on this. I totally expected this, with Manny having a punchers chance.

Both looked the same leaving the fight as entering it. No risk, fight to win boxing. Typical Money fight.

That chart just shows how efficient Floyd was tonight and how good his defense is.

Pacman just couldn't do it. Floyd came out with an early lead and kept him at a distance. Pacman had no choice but to go after Floyd then and that's exactly what Floyd wanted. Floyd knew how many punches he needed to land then get the hell out of dodge. Pacman should have had better defense early on at least. If so, Pacman would have won because he was inching closer to a lead in the last few rounds, but it wasn't enough and Floyd played the last round smart. Safe, but smart. The fight didn't live up to the hype. Pacman pretty much spent the night fighting uphill while Floyd put in some love taps and gave him the slip.

Not true, they looked like they'd each done a leisurely session on a treadmill.

This quote sums it up.

I'd rather get knocked the F out then give the ppl a boring fight in what has been called Fight of The Century.

Pacquiao couldn't the job done, but man, Mayweather's such a boring fighter to watch. There should be a limit on how many times you can hug your opponent. If I took a shot for how many times he gave one, I'd be in the hospital getting my stomach pumped right now.

I hope everybody got their money's worth on the fight. I feel bad for my dad though. I haven't seen him this depressed since Obama won re-election!

Now, let the jokes commence:

I don't hate Floyd Mayweather for beating women...because I assume he barely touches them and just beats them on the cards.
