The film looks massive and feels like it's made for IMAX.
A little off-topic, but it's strange that more "boy adventures" aren't being made. There's a bunch of books and characters to adapt but few are chosen. One is Percy Jackson, but those films are disliked by many.I thought being a boy-centered YA-based film might help with the marketing.

Can Maze Runner change this? Will we finally get more fantasy stories with young heroes, or will we just end up with films similar to Maze Runner (which is dystopian sci fi with teen males). Just like how Divergent came after Hunger Games.
Just saw the trailer, and my first impression is thisLooks like the Hunger Games.
Honestly I want the film to be good and succeed but I hope that doesn't lead to Hollywood dropping female leads for male ones in these book adaptations. Men already have comicbook movies, women have virtually nothing in which they are the protagonist. This is like one of the few boy-centric YA adaptations I've seen as of late, so hopefully it does decent enough.
