But that being a half celestial only ever helped him against Ego and holding a stone. It never enhanced any of his abilities in a fight.

Quill definitely has enhanced durability.

As evidenced when? In fighting terms. Staying out in space a little longer and taking punches to the face are different.

Mr. Lord has taken strikes from Gamora and Korath who are stronger than Cap.

People talking about Star Lord being 1/2 Celestial need to realize the battles take place with the most current iterations of the characters, and with the end of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Star Lord lost all the powers associated with being a 1/2 Celestial when he killed his father Ego.

It's definitely not effecting the votes lol.

Well no I can see that, but I have heard a few comments about Peter being 1/2 Celestial and how can Captain America ever match up to that, and I am saying he doesn't have to because Star Lord is no longer as powercul as he once was, and this is definitely indicated in the fan votes.

Debatable, but even if they are, it's not by much. Cap was holding his own against Corvus, who I think is equal to either.

Korath punched through solid concrete and jumped from hundreds of feet creating a crater in the ground upon landing. Gamora carried a huge mounted cannon from a spaceship and unaffected by the kickback.

I do agree that this is a winnable fight for Cap and if it was strictly hand to hand Cap would SMASH Mr. Lord. Mr. Lord's weapons, tech, and gadgets is where I see his advantage coming from not fight hand to hand.

Don't get me wrong....(which I'm sure people still will).

Star Lord out fought Spider man, which is impressive - but so did Cap. Peter would certainly keep Cap on his toes with his gadgets and unusual tactics.

However, I give this one to Cap, because at some point it's going to get into hand to hand range, at which point Cap beats Peter senseless.

Man MCU Spider-Man sucks lol.

Yeah, for all of Star-Lord's gadgets, aside from his gun, they seem to be mostly "temporary disablers." Whereas once Cap gets the gist and sees an opening, any opening, Star-Lord's toast. Cap is quicker, stronger, and a more ruthless and tactical fighter. It'll take him 5 seconds to realize he needs to avoid Quill's tech, and because of his faster reaction times, he'll have no problem doing so.

Yeah, and I like that - it highlights that he really is a 15 year old kid and he thinks like one, which is why adults (even normal adults wielding super-weapons, e.g. the Shocker) kick his ass.

Comic book Spidey could handle comic book Cap, but in the MCU Cap took him out pretty easily, without hurting him.

I like that Spidey's such a noob, because it means that when we see him grow in experience and improve we'll feel that he's earned it. He's not a hardened veteran who can face down death without fear (like some of the people who fade away at the end of IW) instead he's terrified, as most kids would be.

i like Spidey, always have, and so far MCU Spidey is my favorite.

This is another easy one: Cap. As stated by numerous other posters, CA's physical enhancements, tactical mind, and advanced martial arts training makes him too much of threat against Star-Lord.

Having Spider-Man grow up/get stronger/gain experience between films makes sense. They've done that with Cap, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, pretty much every MCU hero.

I do think they nerfed Spidey too much though, especially in Homecoming. He starts his first solo film without a Spider sense, borderline scared of heights and needs to be bailed out by his Stark suit over and over.

I think Quill could probably win by stacking the fight in his favor but in a straight up fight, Cap wins every time.

I wanted to do Star-Lord vs Falcon, but battling two character who haven't fought messes up our system.

Now that would be a close match up- the terrain would be crucial , with open skies giving Sam a big advantage unless Peter has an aero rig ( from GOTG 2).

Falcon is quicker in flight but needs more space to turn at speed.

Whoever landed the first solid hit with their weapons would probably come out on top.

It's almost too close to call, but would be entertaining as hell to watch.

Now that Star-Lord has battled we can make Falcon vs Star-Lord happen eventually.
