We will be doing VS. battles for the MCU every week and will be using the Winners and Losers to create an accurate power tier list created by some of it's biggest fans (you). So don't forget to VOTE and after voting for a Winner please include a comment on which power tier, both the Winner and Loser should reside within. Also, see below for more details on the characters abilities as well as for a list of available power tiers to choose from.

Don't forget to put which Tier group you think Thor and Ghost Rider belong to in your posts.

So, without further delay here is this week's match up.

THOR Vs. GHOST RIDER

*****Here are some of their powers, abilities and relevant feats.*****

THOR

- Superhuman Strength: As an Asgardian, specifically the son of Odin, Thor is the third strongest Asgardian alive, apart from Odin and his elder sister Hela. He can lift or move immensely heavy objects effortlessly, such as when he was able to easily catch a falling car with one arm during Battle of Sokovia, saving the family trapped inside. He can also easily crush extremely durable objects - such as Iron Man's gauntlets. Thor was even able to tear space ships apart with his bare hands during his escape from Sakaar and held the upperhand while grappling with the Hulk during their gladiator battle.

- Superhuman Speed: Thor can move at superhuman speeds. Thor tackled Hulk through the wall of a Helicarrier in a split second, visibly appearing as a blur.

-Superhuman Reflexes: Thor can react and dodge objects traveling at high speeds, with him blocking many differences kinds of weapons with his hammer such as Dark Elf lasers and Chitauri lasers.

- Superhuman Agility: Thor's agility, dexterity, balance, and bodily coordination make him a great warrior for battle. He moves with incredible grace and speed despite his considerable size and body density. He was able to dodge the wing of a jet fighter thrown at him by the Hulk, as well as dodging many of Hulk's hammer and battle-axe blows in their second battle.

- Superhuman Durability: Thor's skin, muscle, and bone tissue have many times the density of the same tissue in the body of a human being, making him extremely durable. Thor possesses nigh-invulnerability, including resistance to powerful energy blasts, immense blunt force trauma, falls from great heights, explosions and various other opposing forces. He withstood the extreme cold of Jotunheim, the extreme heat of Muspelheim, survived a direct near point-blank range blast from Gungnir blasting him out of Odin's chamber, and falling several hundred feet to the ground, showing no visible signs of injury. Thor withstood a 400%-charged repulsor blast from Iron Man, was barely affected by Quicksilver smashing into him at super sonic speeds and even withstood the full force of the Destroyer's energy blasts. During his final battle with Malekith, Thor was even able to survive being hit by quite a few tendrils of the Aether Infinity Stone energy, and later a blast of Surtur's Twilight Sword flames without any permanent damage, though it should be noted that Thor had not been facing off against Surtur while the latter was at full power. Whenever he is injured, Thor's physique allows him to shrug off minor injuries such as small stab wounds from Asgardian blades, or allows him to withstand a direct blow in the face from a massive Frost Giant and laugh afterwards. He resisted the direct destruction of the entire city of Novi Grad followed by one kilometer drop in the sea, and was only momentarily unconscious.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Due to his Asgardian physiology, Thor is able to heal at a rate much faster than a normal human. After seemingly being killed by the Destroyer and proving himself worthy of Mjølnir once again, Thor regained his full power and immediately healed himself in seconds. Despite receiving mild to severe stab wounds from Asgardian blades on several occasions, after working past the initial pain of the injury, Thor was able to quickly recover and continue fighting. After the brutal beating he suffered from Kurse, upon arriving to Earth several minutes later, he had nearly completely recovered from his bleeding wounds. While fighting Hela, Thor was painfully pierced multiple times by her Necroswords, getting his right eye gouged out in the process, and while Thor was unable to regenerate his eye, he recovered from all of the stabs mere minutes later, despite the Warriors Three all perishing from a single stab from Hela each.

- Weather Manipulation: Thor displayed the ability to manipulate parts of the weather even before he lost his hammer to Hela. His focus always seemed to be somewhere else, so whenever events of him displaying his power occurred his mind was elsewhere. Among them was when he was able to keep rain from touching Jane Foster as a downpour occurred, and when he began to generate sparks of lightning from his hands after becoming furious. He began to unlock the full potential of his abilities during his encounter with Hela, now being able to generate rather large storm clouds and create thunder.

- Lightning Manipulation: Thor can generate, control and project electrical energy, with him thus being dubbed the "God of Thunder". Following Odin's death and visions from his father's spirit, Thor's electrokinetic powers are further enhanced to the point where he could generate electrical energy from his own body and summon thunder and lightning from the sky, all without the use of Mjølnir. His new ability allows him to seamlessly integrate lightning into his fighting sequences against Hulk in the Contest of Champions, and then later against Hela and her undead army. Indeed, Thor's generated lightning bolts were powerful enough to take down a Chitauri Leviathan, to blacken an Aether-enhanced Malekith, to send an enraged Hulk flying back, and to even temporarily stun Hela herself, all with a single respective blast. Additionally, he could pull enemies towards him using lightning and he was able to destroy a proportion of Rainbow Bridge that Hela was standing on to ultimately send her crashing down into the water beneath.

-Mjølnir: Due to the enchantments placed upon the mystical hammer, Thor was granted the ability to focus his innate mystical abilities and harness them. It allowed him to easily harness his dominion over thunder and lightning and that allowed for several other sub-abilities to follow suit.

- Hammer Mastery: Thor is a master of fighting with his battle hammer Mjølnir, due to centuries of practice wielding it, and he is also extremely proficient in hammer throwing. He even had been able to use Mjølnir as a defense tool, blocking energy shots from the Destroyer, Loki's Scepter, Chitauri weaponry, Malekith's Aether, and even Surtur's Twilight Sword (though Surtur was notably not at full power then).

GHOST RIDER

- Superhuman Strength: Reyes displayed a certain degree of superhuman strength, being able to overpower thugs, and massacring them without any effort, notably breaking men's skulls while bashing in their heads, even ripping another man's spine out. While transformed, Reyes could tear the bumper off a car with his bare hands. Ghost Rider was the first person to break out of a Containment Module, which held other super-powered beings, through brute force, an act that Leo Fitz claimed to be impossible. He was also able to overpower the super strong Jeffrey Mace and beat him close to death, and he managed to destroy a Life-Model Decoy of Anton Ivanov by throwing it several meters up in the air and smashing it against a column.

- Superhuman Durability:When the Spirit of Vengeance assumes control, he is almost invulnerable to harm or damage. He survived a firework factory explosion and remained conscious, unlike Hellfire who also survived but was knocked out. Also, when transformed, he was immune to I.C.E.R. shots, which merely bounced off him with no effect. Ghost Rider also resisted Aida's electrokinesis powers, being little if not affected by her energy blasts. He is also bullet proof and has even been impaled with carbon spikes by Eli Morrow and was completely unfazed.

- Regenerative Healing Factor: The supernatural energies that empower Robbie provides full recovery from any damage done to him. Though he received a cut on his face while battling Quake, these injuries disappeared the next day without even a scar. After getting a burnt hole in his face due to Hellfire's attacks and then transforming into Ghost Rider, he emerged afterward in his human form without any sign of being damaged at all. This means that transforming into Ghost Rider and then back to his human form can allow him to recover completely from damage instantly. Reyes has described himself as nearly impossible to kill.

- Fire Manipulation: As Ghost Rider, he is resistant to fire and seemingly no flames are capable of burning either him or his clothing. He is able to imbue a metal object he touches with fire, using the object as a melee weapon, which he has done to objects such as pipes, tools, car parts, and even chains. He can do so even without transforming into Ghost Rider. His control over fire allowed him to form a ring of fire around the car he crashed into with his own flaming vehicle. He also caused his car to catch fire to make Quake fall off it as she pursued him, with his eyes glowing bright orange and him letting out a monstrous roar. He even made his car heat up at will, burning the hand of a thug that put his hand on it. Additionally, he also caused an entire room to be engulfed in fire to burn Santino Noguera to death. It is confirmed that he can use hellfire when he burned AIDA's arm and she couldn't heal from the burn throughout the remainder of her lifespan, despite possessing Jiaying's healing factor.

- Incineration: Reyes is able to channel his fire to incinerate beings into ashes. He was able to set his entire hand ablaze while transformed to incinerate Frederick by touching him, which he did again to other ghosts, even in his human form and once with his flaming chain.

- Intangibility Cancellation: Unlike ordinary humans, Ghost Rider can touch non-corporeal entities, or at least individuals whose bodies are out of phase with the Earth realm. If the situation requires, he can hold them and completely incinerate them with his fire. He was able to grab Frederick by the arm and neck in his human form before transforming and burning Frederick into embers with his blazing hand, he was able to burn Vincent to embers with the Hellfire Chain, and he was able to do the same to Hugo with his touch, though in the latter events, he was able to do so without even transforming.

- Power Imbuing: Ghost Rider has the ability to imbue his power into inanimate objects, such as weapons, vehicles, etc.: He has used this power to make his car the Hell Charger become nearly indestructible. R. Moore fired a rocket launcher straight at the hood, all the rocket did was launch the car into the air and engulf it in flames, but neither the explosion, the fire, or crashing from several stories up had any effect on the car. It has crashed into other cars and even had a head on collision with an invisible Quinjet at full speed, without any harm such as scratches or dents.

- Inter-Dimensional Travel: Ghost Rider acquired the ability to generate portals to alternate universes and different dimensions during his time in a Hell dimension. By simply swirling his Hellfire Chain in a fashion similar to a Sling Ring, he creates a vortex that is enough to open the Inter-Dimensional Gate.

- Superhuman Agility: Ghost Rider is very agile. His supernatural augmented being allows him to maneuver quickly and perform stunts such as flipping around to attack the enemy.

Ghost Rider is very powerful, but I think Thor is just a little too much for Ghost Rider to handle.

Surfer

Okay, Thor has similar physical power to the Hulk and much higher level of fighting skills. What makes the difference is Thor's mystical power, which is probably enough to destroy the Rider.

I see the fight going a bit like this:

Thor opens well with a couple of heavy blows, and he and GR smack each other around for a while.

The Rider hits back with his enchanted chain attack, and pulls in close for the penance stare.

However, Thor has overcome his personal demons so the stare hurts him but doesn't destroy him.

Thor busts loose from the enchanted chain and does a leaping, flying lightning powered punch/blast that explodes the Rider's host and sends his spirit shrieking back to Hell.

So Thor, it would be tough, but given he's stood up to Hela and survived I don't think GR has what it takes to beat him.

Personally, I think Hela would make mincemeat (very literally) of GR. Her blades would be able to hurt him and I don't think that hellfire or the Penance stare would work on her. ( again, comparing her to Thor ....Ultron fought hammerless Thor hand to hand and knocked him around a bit wheras Kurse almost killed him, although he was giving it his all, and Hela just toyed with Thor - Hand to Hand with Hela, Thor was just outmatched in terms of power and grace).

So far I think Hela has to stand close to the top of the pyramid - with only the Celestials, Dormammu and Surtur Prime above her (and Dr Strange with the time stone, although I feel like he could only stalemate her, as he did with Dormammu).

Looking at her tier, I just don't see any of those guys standing up to her - assuming it's Thanos without any infinity stones.

Hela v Kurse ?

Thor, I feel he beats Ghost Rider due to his versatile power set and high level combat skills.

I think the fight would start off with Thor knocking Ghost Rider around and pummeling him hand to hand, then Ghost Rider will let loose with some fire blasts that gets Thor's attention. Then Ghost Rider would try to wrap Thor up with his chain but Thor would catch it and pull Ghost Rider into a lightning powered punch. From then on I think the fight goes on for quite some time, with Thor dominating and GR landing a couple attacks here and there but GR has to change back to Robbie eventually but Thor is always Thor.

Especially after Ragnorak, I would have to go with Thor. I think he has too many varying attacks that could do GR damage for GR to take him down.

Thor was already, imo, too powerful for Ghost Rider before Ragnarok. After it, I think it's kind of overkill.

I know Thor is the "God of Thunder" but people forget that he's also created a tornado (Thor 1) as well as summoning and showing great control over rain (TDW). So his weather powers aren't just limited to lightning and storm clouds.

Oh and don't forget to actually VOTE you guys.

Thor has gone up another tier after Ragnarok.

Thor has mystical powers which both Hulk and Abomination lack, therefore Thor I think is built to defeat Ghost Rider. Same tier, but Thor wins.

Lmao she would feed his bones to Fenris when she's done.

Funnily enough, I actually think GR would be able to take out Fenris.

And I think GR could put up a decent fight against Hela, but would ultimately lose.

See I was gonna chip in but the poll results speak for themselves. And me. :funny:

Fenris didn't really show any powers other than invulnerability and super strength so he probably could.

I think Ghost Rider do a better against Hela than Valkyrie did but not as good as Thor.

I think Ghost Rider may fare better against Hela given all the souls she harmed, but again, he is uniquely equipped in that fight. I still think he would lose, but I think he could phase her. But, he has no such advantage with Thor.

How do yall think the fight would go down?

Thor's lightning is magical. Can't beat up zarathos but Thor's lightning is probably enough, not just to harm robbie, but the demon too.

Ghost Rider is only behind Hulk (who didn't beat him that badly), and Thor is up 17-0. I think it is clear Thor is top dog of the powerhouse tier, and it also seems like he may very well be able to creep up into the transcendent tier.

What does everyone think of his tier placement?

He basically developed his own Odin force. He's definately either top dog of the powerhouse tier or right beneath Hela on the trascendent tier

I second that. He's clearly the most powerful of the powerhouse tier or "lower" transcendent tier. I believe IW will corroborate the later classification.

IMO more props for Hela, easily the deadliest villain so far. Was toying with Thor when she cut out his eye, one shotted the Warriors three and an Asgardian army.

She would pick her teeth with Ultron and Ronan.

I still don't recognize his lightning powers as any form of the Odin force since it's just lightning.

The Odin Force is much more varied than weather powers, it's teleportation, opening dimensional portals, transmutation, telekinesis, telepathy, power imbuing, a variety of energy projection, energy absorbtion, energy redirection, force fields, fusing multiple beings into one etc.

I second that. He's clearly the most powerful of the powerhouse tier or "lower" transcendent tier. I believe IW will corroborate the later classification.

Yeah Thor will be full on Transcendent Tier after IW and Avengers 4.

My mind says Thor but really no idea how to judge this one.

Its well established Thor was a dick as youngster and probably did do some questionable stuff so I don't know if or how the penance stare would work on him.

Also I don't know if we are counting AOS (just cause of the photo used) but if so we seen Robbie getting tanked with lightning and it really only seemed to piss him off.

Granted this was on a much lower scale than anything Thor can muster.

I just don't know how Thor would kill Ghost Rider
