And if so. Who would win in this epic throwdown?

Yes!!!

Im assuming it would need to be case of Hulk appearing in a FF movie or as a sequence in a larger Avenger's movie since they can't do solo Hulk films.

I think it would be an excellent feature for a Fantastic Four movie to have them have to contain the Hulk.

You start off with just The Thing going in to the fight I would even have Ben get the better of initial exchanges, then have Hulk's power superiority takeover and have him beat up Ben forcing the rest of the team to get involved. All four of them working to subdue the Hulk could be a really cool set piece.

I'd rather a third Thor Vs. Hulk fight in the middle of a city with beautiful vehicle tossing destruction.

Of course it should happen, and it should be clear, toward the end, that Hulk wouldwin, but then as Jolldan suggests, if the others join, the team should win.

Hulk would win and NO, it shouldn't happen. Just because it happened in the comics, that's not enough for a reason. Comics aren't the Bible or the Magna Carta and the MCU is NOT Earth 616.

Yeah im not sure if Ben is known for this would be cool to see him fight a lot more technically than Hulk winning initially just due to his more technical approach before the strength factor becomes too much for him.

Can just picture Ben badly loosing a game of Mercy using both hands against just one of Hulk's, Susan uses her force fields to stop her from being crushed by Hulk's other hand, Reed wraps himself around Hulk from the legs up ground anchoring himself to structures to try and hinder Hulk's movement. Then let Jonny come in with a supersonic supernova punch to put the green goliath down. (I have no idea if that's something Johnny can even do but it sounds awesome haha)

When it comes to comic book films... yeah they kind of are.

No they are not. The films take inspiration they are not bound bylaws and comics are just colourful books. just because something happened in comics it doesnt mean it has to happen in live-action.

Is the sky blue? Yes they are going to do this. Not sure if in an Avengers movie, a FF movie, or a Hulk movie (assuming they can get all those rights from Universal back).

I'd rather a third Thor Vs. Hulk fight in the middle of a city with beautiful vehicle tossing destruction.

Only if it's world breaker Hulk where Hulk wins like he's supposed to. I wasn't really fond of the draw in Ragnarok where they made it seem like Thor would end up winning.

The Magna Carta and the Bible provide guidelines. They don't provide specific instruction on how to do everything (and even when they do, people aren't bound to them - people don't stone blasphemers even though the Bible says they should as one of 10,000 examples we could use) . People read and interpret and apply the Bible or Magna Carta as appropriate, and comic books serve as a similar guiding force behind comic book films.

Thing Vs. Hulk is an iconic match-up that people want to see from the comic books, so they should do it. Just like people want to see Captain America with a shield and Thor with a hammer and Dr. Doom in armor etc. etc. etc.

What reason do you have that they should not do it?

The only way it doesn’t happen in the MCU is if they kill off the Hulk in Avengers 4(not likely but you never know). Though I guess some other version of the Hulk could also fight the Thing like Amadeus Cho but I prefer it to be Banner Hulk.

Yes please do. It would be cool AF

Yes, I'd love to see Hulk vs. Thing in live action. It would be hugely fun. In the comics, when it comes to the Hulk fighting fellow superheroes, his two biggest opponents have always been the Thing and Thor. We've already seen Hulk and Thor fight each other several times, so why not have Hulk go up against his other classic good-guy rival, Ben Grimm? The Hulk vs. the Thing would probably be a hard-fought battle, but I'm sure Hulk would win in the end.

I’m more interested in hulk vs juggernaut but hulk vs thing would be cool

I don't know, the story would have to be right. Hulk would obviously win but they'd probably set it up so we cheer for Thing as the underdog that won't stay down.

I wonder if we'll still have Mark Ruffalo by the time Marvel get around to making an MCU F4 film.

Nah, I think Ragnarok nailed the difference between Thor and Hulk. Thor isn't the God of Strength so Hulk is physically stronger (but Thor is strong/durable/skilled enough to make it one hell of a fight). Thor is the God of Thunder though and his lightning is what makes him overall more powerful than Hulk.

There's a reason the writers had Thor conveniently off-world/unreachable for the World War Hulk storyline in the comics.

Yeah I felt Ragnarok did both characters justice to be honest. The Avengers was a draw with the slight edge for Hulk so it was only right for Thor to get the slight edge this time around.

In Infinity War while most saw Thanos use the Power Stone to take down the Hulk so fast I saw a trained fighter using technique to deal with a brawler before he knew what hit him.

Thanos, Thor and Iron Man have all put the Hulk out for a count but I think the Fantastic Four team and not Thing alone should do it in a first meeting.

The Russos revealed that Thanos wasn't using the Power Stone in his fight with Hulk.

You're assesment is not an opinion, it's a fact. :highfive:

Should it happen - Absolutely yes!!

Who would win - Hulk (but Thing would put on a hell of a show)

Yeah I felt Ragnarok did both characters justice to be honest. The Avengers was a draw with the slight edge for Hulk so it was only right for Thor to get the slight edge this time around.

I think they're a good portrayal of the different strengths of each character.

Avengers 1 had Thor arrogantly trying to make it a contest of pure strength, getting repeatedly rag dolled but seeming to enjoy the challenge and still getting a few good hits in. Thor was never hurt and he never used his lightning because he was on-board the helicarrier and didn't want to destroy it.

Ragnarok had Thor learn his lesson and fight Hulk using his huge advantage in skill rather than trying to compete on brute strength. Eventually Hulk still gets angry/strong enough to overpower and pummel Thor but Thor's ridiculous durability means he's unharmed. And then Thor taps into his lightning for the first time in either fight and Hulk is immediately out of his league when the God of Thunder stops holding back.

This definitely should happen!

Who would win? It's MCU so it would be a tie somehow.

Yeah that's what im saying have the initial confrontation with just the Hulk and Thing.

  1. Ben lands the first couple blows due to his boxing technique trumping Hulks sheer berserker style.
  2. Hulk gets angry at being made to miss and begins to wail on the Thing. Ben soaks up the punishment covering up as best he can before taking a huge punch that sends him flying leaving him dazed and hurt.
  3. The rest of the FF arrives to protect and assist Ben with Sue managing to throw up a shield before Hulk hits Ben again.
  4. Have it be a whole family effort to contain and stop the Hulk with all four fighting at full power and just managing to do it.
It does both of them justice. Show's the FF as a competent team who can accomplish anything when they work together and shows the Hulk off as this terrifying destructive force.

I think a team-up film with Thing and Hulk would be the bees' knees, but it would have to wait until after a FF proper film with hopefully a really well written and cast Ben winning the audience over in a big way. Hell if Ben can resonate with the audience I say give him a FF spinoff series where he teams with a bunch of Marvel characters, call it Marvel-Two In One: The Thing And _____.
