MCU X-Men

So what? She's mixed or biracial whatever politically correct term is. I laughed because she was making herself look foolish saying that colorism = racism or how she'll never decline a role that should be given to someone darkskin.

Alex is BLACK!

Why would Marvel keep the X-Men as its own franchise? They gain nothing following in FOX's footsteps and keeping X-Men contained in its own bubble. They are going to want to have the crossover opportunities that come with putting them into the MCU.

Own world is possible then connect it through a universe hopping transporting them to the Avengers universe, you know Secret Wars twist.... Well that's what I want.

Sigh... There's nothing wrong with being mixed. She embraces it herself.

Maybe this article explain my thoughts on a wanting a dark storm better than I can

Why People Want a Dark-Skinned Storm

Ohhh. I thought she was quite bad in Green Lantern. But that was a bad movie so I can't judge.

She was fierce in Gossip Girl!

Zac Efron would be PERFECT as Iceman

I suggested him recently, but I recently found out that he's already thirty. Like if there's young X-boy in the roster, it should be Iceman.

I love Sunfire, Sunpyre, & Armor. Psylocke not the only Japanese X-MAN they can use imo

You forgot Revanche.

Sounds convoluted and unnecessary. Just have mutants start becoming public knowledge (they've been there for a long time but we just haven't known of them yet) and build the X-Men property out of that, and then do the X-Men/Avengers and X-Men/Fantastic Four type crossovers once the MCU version has been established.

Both of these greatly diminish the character and why people are drawn to him.

People aren't drawn to Magneto because of the Holocaust. They are drawn to him because he is a complex and interesting villain who has a justified reason for his hated of humans.

As long as you still tied his origin to real world prejudges and a recognizable real world hate crime (that someone of a different religion or a different ethnicity could be the victim of) what would be wrong with simplifying it?

It doesn't matter how old he is, more how old he comes across on screen. If RDJ came across as a regular 52 year old he wouldn't be able to pull off Iron man so well. I think Efron would be awesome.

Yes I like Revanche and would love to see her in a movie.

My only problem with that is there's some nasty Mutants out there. And they'd probably be causing some trouble and wouldn't be unnoticed. Idk

Efron was a Disney guy I wonder what MCU role he finally takes.

I just think the cross over would feel more special and unique with two universes colliding together. I just haven't seen that in a superhero film.

Acting like mutants suddenly became a thing in phase four just feels forced to me. Especially with a the destruction that has been happening in the movies. At least with a separate universe, it would make more sense why they were nowhere to be seen for the first twenty films.

Maybe all the X-Men will be SHIELD agents and wear SHIELD jumpsuits.

And Magneto won't wear a cape? Scarlet Witch doesn't wear one.

That wouldn't be xciting to see.

Of course he's awesome in any role. But in five years from now, he would start showing his age and by that time, we are probably just waiting for X-Men Vol. 2. I would prefer him as Warren though he isn't really tall. He can easily pass a rich businessman.

I can't see him as any other X-Men now that he's been suggested for Iceman. :woot:

Of course it wouldn't be exciting to see. That's some of what we've had though in the MCU. I want a bit more variety.

Dr Strange had a cape. I want Wanda to wear one. And Magneto definitely needs one. Olsen was told by Joss Whedon she wouldn't ever have to wear anything like her Scarlet Witch costume. At least she could've had a cape. Her current costume is too much like Jean Grey's Phoenix costume in the Last Stand.

And the X-Men need individual costumes that are colourful. If they're anything like the SHIELD jumpsuits, that's just like the Singer leather jumpsuits but in a different colour and different material.

Huh? Why? Heimdall still bothers you?

I personally feel that they should stick to what the characters look like in the comics unless it is someone really unrecognizable and its for a small role. Like I hate the look of Domino not because of the actress, but because they didn't give her the gray skin and the hair is just off. It felt like they were servicing the actress instead of the character from the comics.

Heimda didn't bother to me as I haven't read the Thor comics and haven't see him outside of the comics before Thor 1, but Valkyrie did bother me as she didn't look any thing like the character. So as Flash Thompson and I didn't like the reasoning why Grandmaster wasn't blue. They were clearly servicing the actor instead of honoring what the character looked like in the comics.

Cannonball as well.

Right but it'll be 6 or fewer like Avenger's 1 or GotG 1

I think 8 members are fine and it could go up to 12 if the others are cameos planting seeds for the sequels. What will break the film, if those 8 members get enough role and development or not.

If Iceman is the MCU's first openly gay character, I think it would be a good idea to cast an LGBT actor in the part. It's obviously not required, straight actors can play gay characters well and vice versa, but I think it would be very meaningful for such a landmark move. My personal choice right now is Chris Colfer:

You can have 8 for the power mix while focusing on say 4. You can also have others in the background for the future as students for eg.

I don't think all the X-Men need to make cameos in an X-men film.

Beast could appear in an Avengers film. If they had a Champions movie, they could have Angel and Iceman show up alongside Black Widow, Ghost Rider and Hercules.

They need to mix them up a bit this time round now they're in the MCU. If X-Men only ever associate with X-Men, then it's no different to the Fox universe. Make it more like the comics.

Wolverine can debut in a Hulk or Alpha Flight movie. Storm maybe can show up in a Black Panther sequel.

Later on you can put these X-Men who have appeared in different films into one film. By then we'll have gotten to know them separately and in a different way to the standard X-Men film.

"A truly great piece of news!" Lee told Newsarama. "Now characters such as the X-Men and the Fantastic Four can come home to the place where they belong. It’s vitally important to have the Marvel characters under one roof. And now, as great as they were before, I can’t wait to see the wonders that will unfold!”

Yep. This is my dream roster and visual direction for the first film/series:

Agreed.

The 90s costumes are iconic. But they look a bit dated to me. I prefer the Utopia costumes much more. Though I would remove the head pieces (Storm, Polaris), helmet (except for Magneto), masks, and head condom (Cyclops, ape Beast).

Who said all the X-Men need to cameo in one film. A cameo would be necessary to teae future stories, not just for the sake of showing them.to the viewers.

And as much as people want the X-Men to be a supporting character in non X-Men films, IMO, they should be utilized in a X-Men film first. I think I'd also hate if the Avengers became a supporting character in a X-Men film especially for the first film.

I know I keep saying this, but I'm loving all your ideas and commentaries. Chris Colfer's age better positions himself for Iceman, but I think Jonathan Groff would be perfect to depict him as he is now in the comics. There are a lot of similarities between his character in Looking and Iceman.

It'd be a shame if Iceman took first gay character away from Northstar. He's the first gay marvel superhero. I always wanted him to get recognized first. And with lost of Quicksilver he could be the new speedster of MCU.
