She's kind of a hot name that's out there, and she hasn't really found that major franchise yet. She was in Green Lantern as Carol Ferris, but she never became Star Sapphire.

Not really keen with her as Jean Grey, but whatever.

Thanks! Lively is currently the favorite for Sue Storm, but I'm not a huge fan of her in that part. I was having trouble casting Jean, and she was fresh in my mind from the F4 threads, and seemed like a good fit.

I do feel like I need to add a more "fun" character to the adult cast, though. I'm torn between Jubilee, Nightcrawler, and Gambit.

I'm actually one of the few people lucky enough to have never seen Green Lantern. t: But apparently she's done a lot of good work since then.

Yeah she's done some decent work outside of Gossip Girl. The Town. The Shallows. But not sure she's the best choice for Jean Grey.

In seriousness, Blunt NEEDS a superhero role, she just comes off as too "edgy" to be Jean. For me, Jean needs to exude innocence. Personally, I'm holding out hope that Blunt can play Phyla-Vell now that the MCU is supposedly shifting focus to the cosmos.

The X-Men go to a school for gifted youngsters. I'd like for the actors in the first film to look like they could be in high school (except for Wolverine...who as far as I'm concerned can be about to go through the Weapon X program right now). I always kind of thought of the manifestation of abilities being sort of a take on puberty.

Jean should be played by Annalise Basso (Oculus, Ouija: Origin of Evil). She deserves a chance at becoming a big star.

I’d cast Karen Gillian as Jean Grey. Yes, I know she’s Nebula too but she’s blue and under prosthetic in those movies; GA won’t even know she played two different characters in MCU.

I wouldn't want Blunt for Jean either, but I agree that she needs to be given a superhero role at some point.

Blunt can play Rogue if she can pull off the Southern accent.

Karen would've been a great choice for Jean. I'll throw Ahna O'Reilly and Teresa Palmer names in as well.

I'm sorry but Blunt is just too cold for Jean and Rouge. She'd be a good Mystique or Emma Frost

Easiest thing to do from Disney's end I think is profit from what's been made and hopefully going to be released next year to avoid endless speculation. Besides, taking these Fox movies and smashing them together with the movies Marvel already has coming out until 2019 is going to create a mess otherwise and negate future possibility to a wide extent.

Marvel is almost done with Phase 3 as it is and the slate will be left open once Avengers 4 hits. Next yr Disney will be able to see how people received Dark Phoenix and have a plan A and Plan B in place hopefully. By then Marvel will almost have wrapped up phase 3 anyways.

Exactly. The MCU should have the flexibility to create a foundation that isn't built by four white men and one white woman, especially when telling stories about discrimination. Marvel did interesting things with Homecoming and I expect that creativity with the X-men.

For the sake of diversity among the O5, why not make Hank black? I wouldn't see an issue with that at all. Just don't put him in a relationship with Storm, that's all.

That's GILLAN! I'm sorry but I do take issue with that mostly in relation to Deep Purple lead singer "Ian Gillan (no relation to Karen apparently)," where media outlets continue to spell his name incorrectly. Nothing personal, mate - just a personal pet peeve. Karen would have been a good Jean though.
