I wanted to like ARROW a from the start. The first few episodes of that first season are rough but show promise. But... I couldn't make it past that first season. I think the show nails the action and has a good mix of both "comic book" aesthetic and "gritty"... But it wasn't well written from the start (I liked the idea of the flashbacks thought), speaking for myself, and I think it's got half okay to good actors, and half dull to REALLY bad actors. Unfortunately Amell himself falls into the dull category. He is obviously committed to the part and the show, and he gives his all in action scenes... That just wasn't enough to forgive his acting or the writing for the character.

My thing is, I don't think "embracing the source material" (which can mean different things to different fans) is a general get out of jail free card for the underwhelming writing and acting.

It's a CW show man lol... i just hope they don't 'CW' The Flash.. .which i fear we all know they will

I heard Michael Jordan was going to be in a CW show.

A picture of a military jacket with the label "Jordan" Presumed to be Hal Jordan.

Actually jokes was upset about [BLACKOUT]the Coast City poster[/BLACKOUT]. Which is even less of a spoiler, but I'm spoil tagging it anyways.

The Flash, as good as it is, does have some of the same weaknesses of Arrow, just, less of them and not as detrimental to the show right now. I hope those elements stay as less of a focus or be improved on this season, as this would truly make the show work even better than it already does.

That is a shame. I decided to give season one a try because I'd heard the League of Assassins were major players in the series. Their adaption in Nolan's DKT are my favorite CBM villains. I did like Oliver and his crew well enough in the first season. It was nice to see some heroes that went out and were able to have a good time. I guess the characters begin to decay past season one?

Season 2 features quite abit of the League of Shadows/Assassins and Ra's other daughter Nyssa Raatko is a recurring character. They actually do a great job in that season.

Ah, my mistake then. Still not a big spoiler, but yeah he should have hidden that image all the same.

Man Shield was pretty cool. FINALLY got to see it

far worse has happened here... its wise to avoid show and movie threads when they have come out and you haven't seen them.

So I finally started playing The Witcher 3 after it had been collecting dust on my shelf for a month after I got it for my birthday, and it looks like I've found my gaming fix for the next few months.

That's a game I have on my crosshairs next.

Never tried a Witcher game.
Hope they are not some of the games with too grounded and sluggish combat.

If you like Skyrim and/or Red Dead Redemption, check it out, as it plays like a mix of the two. Combat's fine, just takes a while to get used to.

I really wanted to play The Witcher 3 until i realized that story wise i need to play The Witcher 2 first. :csad:

For some reason my Chrome extension is not working and I find this irritating

Just watch one of those backstory summaries on YouTube and read the lore packet that comes with the game and you're good.

I agree. I like the Flash, but it's still got plenty of room for improvement, imo. Feel the same way about Agents of Shield and Gotham. Somehow I'm still watching Arrow, but I don't know why.

The Witcher distracted you from our deathmatch? C'mon man, I had to be the one man show for the deathmatch thread. :o

I decided to stop watching Arrow. The end of last season just terrible.

I feel like Flash is step above Agents of Shield and Gotham. It knows what it wants to do and doesn't rely on external sources as much the other two (Agents of Shield with MCU movies and Gotham with it's wink-wink reliance on references to the Batman mythos).

Flash has its problems, but it has more of heart to it than the other broadcast television superhero shows.

With that said, [BLACKOUT]Barry's father leaving him last night was a terrible copout. [/BLACKOUT]

They've been CWing the flash since it began. Every woman e is ridiculously hot, we still get love triangle, and forced storylines in order to increase drama. Textbook CW.

What i consider to be 'CWing' a show is when they force an unnecessarily high amount of romance over the main plot points.

I call this the 'Olicity' syndrome.

Meh. I was only really in it for the publicity anyway, just like a certain American billionaire with bad hair :o

I think Amell was shaky in the early parts of the first season, but season 1 got going I felt like he improved along with the show in general. I think he became one of the stronger parts of season 2, but the writing didn't do him any favors in season 3.

Season 1 wasn't the greatest thing, but I felt like it was a good start that ended on incredibly strong note, possibly stronger than this show deserved. "Sacrifice" is still one of the best episodes of both shows.

They did the same thing with the Flash, or are we gonna forget about Barry's kinda creepy crush on Iris, Linda Park, Eddie punching Barry because he made a move on Iris, and Iris for a chunk of episodes having nothing to do but complain to Eddie about romance stuff.
