Ow my head feels like it took a beaten. Thanks to Tolkien...lol. I'm about half way through the book now...getting close to the part where Beren meets Luthien...*sighs*

It hurt my brain too much after 20 minutes... :p

Just think what kind of a headache it would be for everyone trying to translate the Sil into film...it'll take like 10 bloody movies lol...well not really...maybe half of that. Though, I don't think it'll happen now since WB doesn't have the rights to the book cause Tolkien's son fears that whoever helms the Sil as a series of films or whatever, they'll ruin it. No wonder he hated the Lord of the Rings movies and the Hobbit ones. I can understand why but sometimes sacrifices have to be made to make it work...and as long as it has reasons behind it and it makes sense altogether, then yeah, I see no problem. It is what it is.

Have any of yall read Tolkien's book "The Story of Kullervo"? It's the first prose story he wrote. It was published in an academic journal in 2010, but was published by itself in the UK this year by HarperCollins. It doesn't come out in the States until next year.

The Story of Kullervo is a prose version of the Kullervo cycle in the Karelian and Finnish epic poem Kalevala. Written by J. R. R. Tolkien from 1914 to 1915, it is "the first time that JRR Tolkien, who had been a poet until then, began writing prose".[1] Known as a source (among others) for Turin Turambar, Kullervo was the center of Tolkien's efforts in 1914, as he was "trying to turn one of the stories [of the Kalevala] — which is really a very great story and most tragic – into a short story" (Letters, October 1914, #1). It was edited by Verlyn Flieger in 2010 in Tolkien Studies and republished in August 2015 by HarperCollins.[2]

Speaking of over priced blue rays. The Avengers 2 steel book is out up here. I'm considering getting it.

I don't even have a blu-ray player anymore

I have one hooked up to my old broken TV and my PS3 hooked to my working one.

Been thinking of writing my own world of imagination...but I dunno how without trying to be the same as every other works that's been done to death. :(

But, all I can say is it wouldn't have a happy ending so I'm breaking that formula. Not every story has to end on a happy note...I guess we'll see how my brain works. I have some ideas but I want it to be different than ...ugh, whatever.

it's $19.99 for the 3D and that includes a digital copy

I'm making fun of the insane prices people want for the MCU steelbooks online.

which one?

You might be one of the 5 people on the entire Hype who can appreciate this. It is the "Twilight edition" of The Fantasticks film adaptation, just released, which contains the never before released original cut of the film. I've been waiting for this for about a decade; I've gotten into Batman-level arguments on different forums on whether this cut even existed.

Yeah, the Canadian dollar value is so volatile right now that the actual cost difference would only be about 10$ Canadian for faster delivery, so I paid the steeper local price instead. I like to buy myself a birthday present every year; it was either this or a box of wind-up Daleks (which I will likely get anyway :o).

i haven't bought myself anything in years so for my birthday this year i bought myself a new tv.

well, the price dropped today and since I haven't had it a month yet, i got $212 back

I'd like to get something for my birthday but I'm ****ing broke. The only thing I kind of want is a PS4 and that's for Fallout 4. Buying a system for one game is a waste though so I really can't think of anything I want.

Besides a bunch of money so I can retire. :p

A pleasant October evening to all. *

*(This is my "screw you" to posters that have a problem with such a small thing as actual greetings in the Community... I'm looking at you Sawyer and Parker.)
