Got to say, as a huge lover of Ancient Greek history and mythology, I am really looking forward to this.

I love Greek mythology. Pity we haven't had a movie dealing with it in a long time that hasn't completely sucked.

Weird, I recently just finished rereading the Odyssey. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out, I'm surprised more hasn't been done with Greek Mythology lately, there's plenty of stories to draw from.

Totally agree with you. So much potential.

We haven't really had a good version of this, so I'm interested.

Agreed. I know Troy was more or less forgotten as soon as it was released, but I still enjoyed it and would have loved to see him return to the role.
I thought it was fine, but had wished they kept in the gods and other mythology in it. That stuff would've been more fun, I think.

It is kinda odd we haven't gotten more of these. Not Clash of the Titans remakes but actual adaptations.

I'd put Greek mythology in the same category as King Arthur and Robin Hood. The doomed to fail category. The general audience doesnt care enough about the material, and Hollywood desperately wants to make people care by reinventing the material even tho they havent actually done a faithful adaption of the material in the first place.

Not that odd really. Hollywood is Hollywood and is focusing on what they think is safe franchises that they know will make money. I mean, when was the last time this kind of movie was a huge box office-hit?

2010 Clash of the Titans did fairly well. Beyond that, much does not ring a bell.

I'm automatically interested because of Mel Gibson and the subject matter. Don't know if it'll be successful but I don't really care as long I just enjoy the film myself

This will bomb just like every other recent movie starring Gibson and then we’ll all ask ourselves why we keep giving this racist wifebeater second chances until they announce his next starring role.

I don't know about starring roles, but he's a hell of a director who's last film got huge acclaim and good box office.

I'd be more interested in this project if he also directs.

Maybe because he's a good actor and a good filmmaker.

If you expect me to be "shamed" for liking Hacksaw Ridge, all I have to say is "lol".
