Men and Abortion

Well what do you think? I want to get other people's opinions on this. If they disagree, what do you think should happen? Obviously they should talk to each other and spend time thinking about it and discussing it in detail, but what if they still cant come to an agreement?

I think the life of the child should be protected. Even if the law has to step in. The law should protect the innocent and defenseless. Who among us is moreso than those in the womb?? Give the baby up for adoption. As Wilheim said.......open your legs, be prepared for the consequences of forming life.

I think this is a pretty grey area. I think in a lot of situations it's best NOT to bring a child into the world. I think a lot of people, maybe they make stupid decisions and get pregnant, or maybe birth control fails, or whatever, but a lot of people really should not have the kid. It would be bad for them and bad for the child. It seems like you belive the child should be born no matter what and the mother should not have a say. I believe that's wrong.

David Ring
“I Have Cerebral Palsy – What’s Your Problem?”
Few individuals have felt the crushing blows that have besieged David Ring since birth. He was born to lose. On October 28, 1953, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, David was born with cerebral palsy. Orphaned at age 14, he was cast about from family to family, with nowhere to call home. He endured constant physical pain, humiliating public ridicule and constant discouragement. Yet in the face of these seemingly insurmountable obstacles, David emerged not victimized...but victorious! Life was worse than hopeless to him until his relationship began with Jesus Christ who taught him self respect and an acceptance of his physical challenges. To most, physical challenges of this magnitude would prove to be a tombstone. For David, his coming of age was and remains a milestone.
You've never heard a speaker quite like David Ring. Although difficult to understand at first, you will soon find yourself captured by his quick wit and warm personality.

David shares his story with over 100,000 people each year at churches, conventions, schools and corporate events. He has been featured on Focus On The Family, The Old Time Gospel Hour, and with John Hagee On Cornerstone.

David's book Just As I Am, (Moody Press, Chicago, IL) tells about his heartaches and victories, and addresses the central theme of his life:
"Triumph Over Odds."

David and his wife, Karen, make their home in Franklin, Tennessee. They are the parents of four children, April, Ashley, Nathan, and Amy Joy.

Reviews
David Ring is a living, breathing testimony of the incredible power and grace of God. It would be virtually impossible for anyone who is spiritually alive not to be touched by his message. Don't fail to hear him.

What a privilege and pleasure for us to have had David Ring as our keynote speaker at our conference in Winter Park, Florida. His message--straight from his heart--certainly touched each of our hearts. Once captivated, he had all of us in the palm of his hand.

And you seemed to willfully ignore the context from which the term was pulled. A Scientific text book will use scientific terminology not warm and fuzzy terms like "baby" or "kid" or "Daddy". It will say fetus , child or Father. Those are more technical. But they mean the same thing. You just seem to be bent on de-humanizing the baby by using the more cold "fetus" term. Why???
[/B]

And you still don't see the point. Fetus isn't a cold term, its an accurate description of what it is. You haven't proven that baby is just as,if not more, accurate than the term fetus. It's a technical term because its correct.

This is one of those people that some would say needed to be aborted. And there are many stories of those born with handicaps or into bad circumstances. But unless you have omniscience, you have no clue as to what this life has in store for them.

I think you definitely have a point and you have strong beliefs, and I respect that. But at the same time i disagree with you. I think, in a way, abortion does protect the child. It portects it from being born to a mother/family/household that does not want it. I don't know how developed a fetus is, or if it has a soul, or any of that, but i think that sometimes abortion is the best choice, for the mother and the baby. And I don't believe the law should supercede the mother's right. I believe she is in some way connected to the child moreso than anyone else, maybe even in a spiritual way, and that the decision is hers to make.

I would like to know more about adoption. What happens to most kids who are given up to adoption? What percentage of the kids actually end up in loving homes? I am curious about the statistics of it.

Well i think i'm going to take a break from the computer for a while, i really need to make dinner and get some fresh air too. I'll check back later after i'm done with dinner, but i'd like to say its been great talking with you all and hearing all your opinions and getting my opinions off my chest! later,

And car is less correct than automobile??? You simply don't want to see the point.

The anaology is crystal clear. Also, technical doesn't mean more correct.

You still avoid my question. why is baby less correct? Even doctors call it the baby. "Can you feel your baby moving, yet"?? "Do you sing to the baby?" "What you eat and drink will effect your baby". Yep, they could just as easily call it fetus. But they use the warmer term.

Question,,,,,,,you got any children???

Heh. Well I started the thread with the intent to hear other people's opinions and get some new insight into the matter. I didn't come here to defend my stance to the death or anything. Discussion is about opening people up to different ideas.
props, Sick Boy.

Same here......it's almost midnight here..... see ya.

So some guy with cerebral palsy is a success? Good for him

Would I say he needed to be aborted? It wasn't my decision. However, I wouldn't take away the mother's choice to abort or not.

sigh.......good nite all.

I'm not going to tell another person to live their life in a way I approve of.

I don't know why you feel compelled to

That's like saying someone who doesn't murder shouldn't have an opinion on murder:confused:

Nope. And like I said before,if this were a conversation about any other subject I'd refer to it as a baby. But it is specifically a fetus. "Baby" is used more often to describe it once it is born. You said I used fetus like it was dehumanizing, when thats just what it is.

My opinion on murder is let the judicial system handle it.

The court of public opinion has pictures updated daily that can be seen free of charge at ratemypoo.com

My little brother has CP. He's in a wheelchair. He likes professional wrestling and lesbian porn.

Growing up with him was a pain in the ass (he had 26 or something, I can't remember...operations). They removed 3 fourths of his colon when he was born. He used to always crap his bed, almost every single night.:(
Got incredibly embarrassing when I would have friends over for sleep-overs. Aww...poor me.:(

The three times he was in a full-body cast, it was my job to grab the urinal bottle if he needed to piss...while "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" was on. Piss stinks BTW.

Our lives would've been a HELL of a lot easier if my Mom had aborted his ass.
But, I think HE, ME, and SHE are, pretty glad that she wasn't only thinking of herself at the time. :)

NO. Not "anyway".

If a chick is f***ing, then she might create a life.

I've had three close friends that have had abortions. Every single one of 'em got pregnant because they were blacked-out on drugs and/or alcohol at a party. Every single one. They hardly remembered the impregnation. :o

Life is life. If something is living, and then you slice it's head off or rip it to pieces, it ain't alive anymore, meaning, you killed it.

If it's "My Body, My Choice", then there are a HELL of a lot of women running around with miniscule penises tucked away inside of themselves.:o
totally embarrassing, and evil. :o

I don't get how people kill countless trees and other things but when it comes to a "human".... anyway one could argue that women should be the only deciders of abortions since most men that say they will raise the baby end up leaving their child/children and doing this to another person but i will say that aborting the baby is the easiest way out for many. I just hope abortions are never forced upon anyone due to race or income:confused:

The men inside the womb have NEVER said this.

The animals we raise just to kill and eat are far more developed than any fetus, so why should it be ok to kill millions of animals for food but abortion be considered evil?

It's wrong. It's murder.

They say it's the mother's decision. However, they're forgetting about someone.

You mean forgetting about the undeveloped fetus? No they aren't. That's who it's all about. I believe the mother is the only person who can make the best decision for herself and her baby. If the mother feels she is unable to properly care for the baby, she should have the right to abort it. People keep saying stuff like "well if the fetus could talk it would say it would want to live" and "we have to stand up and defend the rights of the fetus" but if the fetus could talk it could also say "i don't want to be born to a mother who does not want me" or "i would rather sacrifice my not-yet-begun life in order to let my mother have a normal teenage life," etc.

The fact is, a fetus can't talk! But the mother is the closest person to it, so it should be her decision what to do.

Do you think an abortion is not a hard thing for a mother to go through? It is. It can be a terribly painful, heart-wrenching and confusing situation, but it is her situation.
