A while ago, I started messing around with the idea of writing my own script for a "Metroid" movie. I chose to build the narrative from a starting point that was hinted at in both "Metroid Prime" and "Metroid Fusion"; I also used the 1980s Nintendo comics as a reference. So, here's the small amount I have so far; suggestions?

FADE IN:
The vastness of outer space. The year is 2560. The human race has colonized countless planets in the galaxy. Suddenly, from amongst the stars, a soft-spoken voice is heard. It is courageous, yet reflecting. This is the voice of Samus Aran.
ROLL MAIN TITLES
INT. - CATACOMBS, PLANET ZEBES - DAY
Samus narrates the following scenes, as we see a brief montage of her formative years, from her childhood on Zebes, to the beginning of her police career.
INT. - FEDERATION POLICE H.Q. - DAY
Samus Aran walks down the main corridor, for a meeting with her superiors.
ON SAMUS ARAN
Early twenties, modestly attractive. 5'10" tall; shoulder-length blonde hair; sparkling blue eyes. Dressed in a navy-blue and white uniform, carrying the rank of Lieutenant, Junior Grade. Her expression is one of confidence and sincere determination.
INT. - FEDERATION POLICE H.Q., CAPTAIN WALTERS' OFFICE - DAY
Captain Adam Walters sits at his desk, looking up briefly, as an officer's voice fills the room.
Samus enters through the doorway, standing at perfect attention.
A flash of anger crosses Samus' face. Walters notices, but decides not to press the issue.
Samus stands, and turning briskly, exits Walters' office.
FADE TO: INT. - SPACE HUNTER H.Q. TRAINING ROOM - DAY
SUPERIMPOSE: THREE MONTHS LATER
Retired space hunter Jeff Hastings watches carefully, as Samus runs through a holographic battle simulation. Her expression is cold, focused, and emotionless. There's no mistaking her intentions. Laser pistol at the ready, she spots a movement from the corner of her eye. Turning quickly, she fires without hesitation, and the enemy target fades from sight. The exercise ends, and Hastings smiles.
Samus, though tired, stares her superior right in the eye.
INT. - SPACE HUNTER H.Q. MAIN HALL - DAY
Samus exits the training room into the main corridor of the Space Hunter complex, where she is approached by a young man.
ON MARK SADLER
Mid-twenties; 6' tall; dark hair and eyes. Slightly muscular; casually dressed, considering the environment. He and Samus walk briskly, side by side.
His attempt at humor doesn't even faze her.
Her attitude finally makes Sadler step directly in front of her. Looking her right in the eye, he speaks with true concern, determination, and a slight hint of anger.
Samus stands still for a second, almost as if contemplating her next move. Suddenly, she lashes out rapidly, pinning Sadler to the wall in anger. Her voice is cold, almost deathly in nature.
She releases her iron grip on Sadler, and continues down the hall alone. He hits the floor, gasping for air, but manages to croak out one last question.
She stops and turns back to face him. Her voice is calmer now, yet still defiant.
INT. - SPACE HUNTER H.Q. COUNCIL CHAMBER - DAY
Samus continues her narration, as we see several counselors in deep discussion.
In the scene before us, several scientists from different star systems are discussing the numerous threats being faced. Admiral Laura Kaytar is the first to speak.
ON LAURA KAYTAR
Human female, approximately forty-five years old. She has bright red hair and green eyes. Her expression is one of both reverance and true fear...the first for the Council, the second for the situation at hand. She steps forward to address her fellow dignitaries.
This news takes the other Elders by surprise. Military commander Vilon speaks next.
ON COMMANDER VILON
Mid-to-late fifties; half-human alien species. Members of his race have yellow eyes, and faint blue veins showing through their skin. He is dark-haired.
Elder Dirk Baron pipes up, to offer his viewpoint.
ON DIRK BARON
Early sixties, human, with white hair, blue eyes, and a white moustache. His demeanor is calm and collected.
The name doesn't seem familiar to most of the Council members, who appear rather confused. To briefly explain them, Baron presses a button on his desk, which activates a small viewscreen nearby. The image is that of a small, green, dome-shaped creature with sharp teeth and three red internal nuclei.
This mention clearly angers Baron.
Laura Kaytar shouts loudly to gain everyone's attention, and silence the ensuing argument.
As Baron & Vilon settle their tempers, Kaytar once again addresses the Council.
A fourth member, Ryan Gilox, stands up to draw the members' attention.
ON RYAN GILOX
Early thirties; blonde hair, blue eyes.
This mention seems of no relevance to Vilon, and fairly interesting to Kaytar. Baron, however, listens closely.
Ryan's mention of the now-extinct race piques great interest. Vilon even seems impressed.

"I was born on a distant world. The natives called it Zebes. My parents were part of a recent human colony, founded by the Galactic Federation. One dark night, they were murdered during a raid by the vengeful Space Pirates. I alone survived, to be raised by a highly-intelligent race, known as the Chozo. For ten years, they trained me as a warrior, to help defend what was left of their society, should the Pirates ever resurface. When the last Chozo died, I left to attend the Galactic Academy. SAMUS
"No, sir."

WALTERS
"Well, as you know, the Federation assigns six officers every year, to the elite Space Hunter training facility. Officers attend a one-year session, at the end of which they are promoted in rank, and tasked with the most difficult of missions beyond home base. It has been decided that you are one of this year's recruits."

"Like everything else in this universe, the Galactic Federation had a foundation. It's main purpose was deciding how to combat large threats, and determining who to select for each mission. "Honorable allies, I feel it necessary to remind you of the task we face. As you know, sentry ships picked up Space Pirate frequencies three months ago. But we've just recieved word of another attack. Local transmissions have confirmed it's the Pirates, and not only that...but they're much more organized than we thought."
