I can't believe people are complaining about the names of American cities on German bombs. So how exactly do you say Chicago or Florida in German?

The same. Many proper names in German are the same as in English.

Whether they are adopted, biracial, or step siblings the bond they have is by far the most important aspect. We all have family or know people with family for whatever reason are family in name alone. These people don't even like each other a little bit and only see each other on holidays if that. We also know people who are not related but when your around them they feel like family.

Really, that's what the Fantastic Four is all about. Johnny and Sue are the only blood relatives in the group, but they're still Marvel's First Family.

Course i'm serious. But if Devito comparison is too much for you, then how bout this; why not...cast Denzel Washington as Frank Castle? he's played the same character basically in the man of fire...why not have a black Frank Castle this time, or Michael Jai white as Logan.he's played plenty of no nonsense, tough-as-nail mothertrucker plenty of times before...just gives him a sideburns and pointy hairstyles and let him say BUB a few times...

Why? well because...why not?

Both of those sound like great casting choices.

They're an actual family. They live, socialize, and go on non-grounded adventures together. Reed and Sue are married with children. Reed and Johnny are in-laws. Ben is the only non-relation, but he's Uncle Benji to Reed and Sue's kids. The FF isn't a "found family", regardless of what Trank and FOX are telling us.

They started out that way, though. Reed and Sue didn't get married until three years into their run.

And getting married and having in-laws kind of supports the "found family" notion, because that's an example of it. People who you're not related to by blood who become your family by choice. Saying there's a difference because there's a legal framework in place is A) pretty pedantic, and B) doesn't work in this case if we go off the notion that either Sue or Johnny is adopted, because that is also an example of people who aren't related by blood but are seen as family in the eyes of the law.

I was unaware this was changing 616 Johnny Storm.

Seems to me this is an adaption of the character and the mythology, not the actual existing comic book character being changed.

Oh, well thanks for the clarification.

Unfortunately I don't like that either. As a result I wont be supporting this film in any way.

Chris Evans: Michael B. Jordan will make a 'phenomenal' Human Torch in 'Fantastic Four' reboot

"It's so funny, you almost feel precious over the role that you don't want someone else to do it," Evans told the Daily News during a "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" junket. "But when you hear someone phenomenal is doing it, it's very exciting like you almost can't wait...I couldn't even give that guy any advice if I wanted, that guy is so good," said Evans of his successor..."It's exciting to see what he's going to do, because I know he's going to reinvent it in a way that I could never have imagined."

"It's almost like we're sharing, the character is ours," said Evans. "I feel like I'm connected with him in a way, It's a nice feeling."

Great post

They're most likely going to build them up and not have them as married right away.

What's this "Found Family' you speak of? please provide links to Fox and Trank calling them this as well as definition of what it means. Thank you

It's a bromance....

I was responding to another poster who compared the FF to Buffy's found family, not a Trank post. It doesnt take a genius to figure out that by casting three dudes born within a year of each other that Josh is taking a vastly different approach to Marvel's classic First Family.

You're welcome.

I smell future buddy action/comedy.... "PASS THE TORCH" Early summer release date. Get Gibson and Glover to play the bad guys. It's gold Jerry!!!

Not really news. Evans is a professional and nice guy. Even if he didn't like the casting, he's not going to bad mouth a guy.

Thank you!^^^^ Common sense! It's not very "PC" for Capt. "AMERICA" to rip on MBJ when Captain America releases in the US in a few more days...

It a shame FOX has to resort to playing the diversity angle to win over some movie goers instead of giving this franchise it's due.

Well, he was being pretty brutally honest about the Story films in the same interview, so it's not like it was a press release or anything.

Well, he was being pretty brutally honest about the Story films in the same interview, so it's not like it was a press release or anything.

He has been fairly negative about the 2nd movie especially. He barely did promotion for the 2nd one, other than the press junket day for the 2nd movie and seemed extremely detached during all of the interviews in London for the premiere. It has been awhile since I watched the first DVD, but I'm not sure he even did the commentary for the 1st movie.

He would definitely want to give the upcoming movie his professional support in hopes that it fairs better in the script, edit, directing and critic areas.

Well, he was being pretty brutally honest about the Story films in the same interview, so it's not like it was a press release or anything.

But did he say Story specifically was the reason the movies were bad? I can see him not promoting something because he isn't crazy about it, but I can't see him calling out a specific person and being negative that way. That's why he may not like the reboot idea in general, but I doubt he has strong feelings either way about individual casting.

This is what he said....

Speaking to the Toronto Sun, Evans chose his words carefully:
"Those Fantastic Four movies… how do you say this correctly? This is where interviews get tricky.
"If you're going to get locked up in a long-term contract, you've got to make sure the movies you're making are movies you'll be proud of. With a lot of movies I've made, I've had something to question."
"And the 'Fantastic Four' was a three-movie deal (though only two were ever made). 'Captain America' was a six-picture contract (counting three Avengers movies). And Robert Downey Jr. had already set the tone with the 'Iron Man' movies, there already was a following. So those six movies were for real."
This is, I think, an entirely reasonable position. Most fans seem to agree that the two Tim Story-directed 'Fantastic Four' movies completely failed to do justice to the source material; the casting of Evans as the Human Torch and Michael Chilkis as The Thing were just about the only things most agree they got right.
But as we all know, Evans saw sense and signed on to play Steve Rogers six times - and has no doubt he made the right decision.
"Had I not done these movies, it would have been the biggest mistake of my life, my biggest regret - and there are plenty."

He did not say anything about Tim Story....that was a reflection of the interviewer in writing the article. That was not a quote from Evans.

That's what I'm saying. Most actors are smart enough to avoid being negative about a person. Hollywood is a small town. You never know whom you're going to upset, and that could cost a job down the line. Heck, George Clooney bashes Batman & Robin all the time, but I have yet to hear him say it was all Joel Schumacher or anyone else specific.

So while it's nice to hear what Evans thinks of Jordan, it's no different than hearing what Tobey Maguire thinks of Andrew Garfield. Not really news unless they flat out say they hate the casting choice, that's all.

It's not that he avoided being negative he actually gave a rousing show of support to MBJ. He didn't have to go out his way to talk about them sharing a connection in the role etc.

I mean has Bale said much more than 2 words about affleck being cast? It was nothing close compared to what evans has said about MBJ at least. He sounded more than happy about the casting.
