He delivers what we expect...killer fight scenes, unique action sequences and louder than hell explosions. Let him finish the franchise with a BANG...bring on the third film.

He did not do any of the above in the first TF movie -- the fight sequences were terribly cut and just weren't exciting. Shakycam closeups really don't help either, I mean if Bay could do terrific action sequences I wouldn't complain one bit. It's one thing if Bay can do it and do everything else wrong, but it's entirely another if he can't even excite me.

Hell, even hired guns like McG and Ratner are better than Bay in the action department. The action scenes in X3 and TS outstrip Bay's TF scenes by a huge margin.

Ratner did okay in X3 (Phoenix sucked) and McG's action sequences in TS were also okay (even though the movie was an epic fail), but to say either of those guys' action scenes outstrip Bay's is ridiculous. Bay's TF scenes are hard to follow b/c they're dealing with such massive characters, but I don't know how well Transformers (as a movie franchise) succeeds without him. In my eyes, he IS Transformers.

Seriously...Michael Bay is the perfect type of Director for a film like this. We are not expecting Oscar winning performances from a film like this. I totally agree. No one (at least no one should) come into a movie like this expecting some "art house" cinema with a great, deep storyline. It doesn't happen with a movie like this. The story's not great for this movie and even I felt that the characterization was down from the first movie, but I didn't go into the theater last night thinking, "Hey, I'm hoping to get some great character depth and a well thought out story." No. I went in thinking, "Megan Fox, Megan Fox, Megan Fox...and something about giant robots kicking butt and blowing crap up." :D

Seriously, no one is bothered with how the robots virtually have no characters to speak of in these movies?

Or how its basically the military whomping on the Decepticons most of the time?

I keep asking you this, but maybe this time you'll answer.

What kind of characters do you think they should have?

I have a huge problem with it. I thought that was going to be taken care of but once again the military is made to look like bigger badasses than the Autobots (which have little to no dialogue again, for the exception of Megatron and Starscream which was pretty neat).

This entire movie felt like a rehash of the first just way worse.

Bay needs to go. Time for new blood to give it a try.

I really REALLY hate Bay for trying to make the military look good by having them beating giant robots from distant galaxies who can transform on a whim. It seems like these two TF movies are 2.5 hours of advertisement for army recruit.

Part of why Michael Bay has such a great relationship with the military and can get them involved is because he shows them kick ass in the movies. These movies would be much more expensive and lack a lot of authentic equipment if it weren't for Bay's military connections. Also, my brother is in the military so I certainly don't mind seeing them get involved in some evil robot smashing.

That doesn't excuse the crappy action scenes. While I was watching TF, the sequences made me yearn for the likes of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.

Yeah. I went there. :o

I was thinking about this while taking a dump :hehe:

Supposedly the only eartly thing that can really destroy the Transformers are the sabot rounds because of their trmemedous heat right ?

Here's the thing that doesn't make sense.
A) the heat generated by the transformers when they're coming to earth is just as hot. Meaning that the autobots and decepticons should be dead before even landing on earth.

B) They are pushed back by hits from artillery or missles but landing on earth with speeds up to 45.000 km per hour apparantly has no effect on them

Edit :
Also LOL at ROTF's WIKIPEDIA page

Hopefully it'll stay up long enough for you guys to see it

They have protective capsule forms they come to Earth in, do they not?

Well, it should be about Autobots vs Decepticons, not military vs Decepticons. And if Decepticons can be pushed around by 21st Century weaponry, then how can they be taken seriously?

Can we get another director for this film, possibly some diff. writers as well!!!

Although I doubt Bay would leave, I wish he would. I think the problem I had with him was the fact that he didn't respect the franchise or the fans from the get go. I remember reading and seeing interviews saying that he didn't want to do " a stupid toy movie ", and he wasn't familiar with the G1 cartoon because " he was into girls at the time ." Raimi, Favreau, Snyder and Norton all had respect for the source material of their comic book movies, that's why u don't see too many fan boys *****ing about Spider-Man ( 1,2), Iron Man, TIH, and 300. And Speilberg took the wrong approach by wanting to make it about " A boy and his first car". With all of the things they can do with CGI these days, a G1 movie could be acheived. I can hardly tell BAYFOMERS apart. They look like amped up Johnny 5 robots on steroids. And when they fight, they look like balled up tinfoil. Oh, and for the record Beast Wars sucked A-- ! G1 will always be the true transformers.

I don't mind Bay behind the camera, as long as we got someone else who controls the quality of the movie and prevents Bay from putting any more stupid, perverted jokes into the Movie.

It needs better writers. Bay has proven that he can make a really good movie with better writing, imo.

THE ROCK :yay:

bay has proven he can make a film the entertains the masses with less then a stellar script

perhaps it's a better script people should be asking for.

I actually love almost ALL of Michael Bay's movies!!!

A lot of people may NOT like Michael Bay as a serious director, but for Mindless Action movies, with Hot Babes and Action/Special Effects, the Fun there is simple NO better director, period.

People, QUIT being so serious, and just enjoy some movies Mindlessly!

this really makes no sense...your asking us to be mindless so we can enjoy a movie...whaaat?

Sorry, but no. I refuse to shut my brain off and enjoy a movie when it comes dangerously close to Scary Movie humor territory. Giant Transformer testicles were simply not needed. The whole Movie would've been better if they would've toned the stupid down.

I imagine I'm not the first to say that I couldn't be happier if this happened.

Was Spielberg even still attached as a Producer?

I have all bays films and i like them all, so i voted no.

I think Bay can be good when he's being controlled. But when he's loose from his cage (away from Bruckheimer and Speilberg), he's awful.
