Michael Keaton: Overrated?

To me, Michael Keaton is perfect Batman as Chris Reeve was a perfect Superman.

That pic is creeping me out man it's like Batman gonna pounce.

And no Keaton ain't overrated. He was great Batman but didn't like his Wayne.

Thats TruerToTheCore for you. never seen a longtime fan who would have such and so many misinformation and innacurate statements. Well, aside from maybe the BOF people

If you ask me, Michael Keaton IS Batman,...and Christian Bale IS Batman as well. Confusing, isn't it?

No way is he overated

I thought Keaton was brilliant, and that was because of his portrayal of Wayne. He looked like someone, who could be capable of dressing in a Batsuit at night. Of course Bruce Waynes crazy, he's obsessed over his parents murder and the wrong doings in Gotham for more than half his like, and spent millions in doing so.

I like in the Keaton character that he is always torn between the two overlapping personalities and how that affects his "normal" life as Bruce Wayne.

Bales version is equally great in as much as it fits perfectly with the Nolan world, where Bruce is even in disguise as Bruce Wayne when he pretends to be a partying all the time womanizing Gotham rich kid, but doesn't go as far as showing Batman as someone with a potentially dangerous streak. He's more measured and methodical. Both great takes on the character(s).

Keaton was all wrong for Batman, but the well-designed costume helped him to give a decent performance. Keaton in a closer-to-the-comics costume would've been the funniest thing ever.

In the end all Keaton did was making strange moves with his eyes and whispering some words.

Anyone who says Keaton is overrated needs to come to my house so I can punch them in the face.

I've discovered that I don't really like to look at still photos of Keaton Batman because in the movies he moves like a serpent.

It's so nice to hear someone as knowledgable and well informed as you condem his idiocy.

Yup. I called you can idiot. Aren't I a rascal?

Hm. Depending on what you said, I might actually feel complimented.

Keaton is a good actor, and certainly a better Batman than Adam West, Val Kilmer or George Clooney.

But he doesn't "fit" IMHO. Never did.

The look, the persona, none of it.

They've never done a great job at casting people as Batman, though I think Bale is the best we've seen. I think he's certainly the best Bruce Wayne by far.

That said, the animated Batman of Kevin Conroy is the best at both. But he's animated so.. yeah...

That might be possible. Perhaps you'll find out.
Whatever. In case, write me a PM.
Actually it wasn't that nice, but also not that mean.
That's life, I guess.

Oh, I don't care nearly enough to do that.

If I was in a dark alley and 89' Keaton Batman was at one end and TDK Bale Batman was at the other, I'd go towards Bale. Keaton was so intimidating in that suit, I wouldn't want to fight him! But then Bale would kick my ass lol. Each Batman was good in their own way. I'd be cool to mix and match,

I'll give you five minutes to amend your comment and exclude a certain "ER" actor. :ninja:

Lmao! I was trying not to discriminate just in case Clooney Bats had some fans. But yeah, he sucked lol. Kilmer didn't thrill me either
