Just caught a blurb on a ticker that once out, Vick may be getting pursued by a few teams and most interested seems to be the 49ers thinking he'll benefit from west coast offense.

Other possibities Detroit and Miami (I don't know how keen Parcells would be on that one  )

I strongly doubt Mike Singletary would want someone like Vick on his team.

Singletary may not be back next year, especially if Holmgren wants to coach again.

I think the 49ers will stick with Mike, the team seems to have responded really well to him and play alot harder for him than they ever did for Nolan.

As much as I'd love to see him take over the job for next year, I think SF will probably look outside the franchise to get that team back on track.

I would be shocked if anyone picks up Vick after his fiasco. Beyond that, what makes him good enough to be able to compete that far down the line? He was mediocre in his prime, the only attraction was that he sold a lot of merchandise. I doubt that will be the case if there's a next time around.

Sean Hill looks like he could become a decent QB within a few years, so I'd stick with him...

:yay:

San Francisco coach Mike Singletary said Vick deserves the chance to play in the league, and believes he will be successful if he returns. He wouldn't say if the 49ers would pursue him.
"He's still under contract, you can't really talk to him or have any contact with him," Singletary said on Friday.

Btw, this story is back from Feb, still makes the most sense to me anyways. These are about the only 2 teams I could still see him winning a starting QB position (Vikings, 49ers). Anywhere else and I think he'd be like a Cordell Stewart type gimmick.

Especially with Favre supposedly this time, for real, officially staying retired.

49ers coach Mike Singletary all but put an end to the Michael Vick-to-San Francisco rumors Tuesday, calling it "a dead issue."

"It's not happening," he added. We suspect Singletary wouldn't mind giving Vick a chance, but his hands are tied with GM Scot McCloughan calling all the shots. McCloughan is still dying for ex-No. 1 pick Alex Smith to succeed.

-Rotoworld.

You can also rule out Washington and Seattle.

Jacksonville appears to be the most likely destination.

I was one who thought he would be good, too. Glad I'm not a niners fan.

unfortunately i'm a niners fan and i wanted the niners to draft aaron rodgers.

smith looked like a bust from the start.

if we'd gotten rodgers, we wouldn't be having such a ridiculous conversation right now about vick joining the niners.
