Good interview though. I for one did not want blocky robots, as I thought it would have looked silly. I have been ok/happy about most of the designs, cept Starscream. Glad to see that he is making a more realistic movie then a toy movie.

I hear ya man. I feel the same way. I didn't wnt the blocky designs. This isn't an 80's cartoon...this is an alternate storyline BASED on G1. Like any other alternate storyline. It's gonna be awesome.

Simple...the toys will be more like Transformers as the movie counterparts will have parts going and coming out of nowhere. There's no way that can translate to a real model so they'll have to cheat somewhere.

Awesome? As in Godzilla 98 awesome?

I, for one, like the overall (non-blocky) feel of the designs. However, BB doesn't need to tower over Jazz, Megatron doesn't need to look like a molten piece of s***t, and Starscream doesn't need to ACT and LOOK like a vulture a.k.a. Lazerbeak. (and in the script that's totally the animalistic, simplistic, personality they gave him).

Well if Bay doesn't like the boxy look then maybe he is the wrong guy to be the director, maybe Spielberg should of hired a director that was actually interested in the Transformers, not acutally saying it nonchalantly like Bay does.

Well, he didn't want to direct the movie in the first place when they approached him. Those merchandise royalties smacked him in the face and woke him up though. But he is not a Transformers fan...something I think should have been a prerequisite. Look how Raimi is treating the Spider-man franchise.
