The more I see Walk the Line on HBO, the more I am warming the idea of Joaquin Phoenix as Two Face. I mean Phoenix is great at playing dark, troubled characters. I know he can pull of Dent.

Ryan Phillippe can play Dent really well. He has that baby face, clean cut look about him. I think he is a great actor, but I don't think he can pull of Two Face. We can never really know until it happens.

My number one choice has always been Schreiber dammit!!!!
but i can live whomever Nolan chooses. Besides, what do I really know, I'm just a chick in my junior year of college.

Does Nolan do screentests or does he just have quiet conversations with people? As spot-on as the rest of the cast was in Begins I'm struggling to see how he chose Katie Holmes as Rachel. She's a pretty good actress but not right for the part. Wonder where that went wrong.

nolan and goyer didnt want rachel. WB wanted rachel to get girls in the theater. and you can see in the movie that only WB wanted rachel.

Phoenix can act but doesn't have the look.
Schreiber has some of the looks but after seeing more movies with him, he can't act for crap.

How can you say Phoenix doens't have the look, yet not be against Phillippe getting the role?

Schreiber was great in the Manchurian Candidate and Kate and Leopold (the only two Liev movies I have seen). His character in MC reaks of Harvey Dent, so his talent should not be in doubt.

Even if you think Pheonix doesn't have the exact facial look of the character (I personally think he does, especially Sale's) you can't deny that he has the sort of build Dent would need as well as the rugged, 'good looks'.

Throw into that he's one of the best actors around who can play different types of roles (which will help play the dual role).

I agree as regards the Schreiber comments though, I personally think he's a bit of a ham.

I'd prefer him over Phillippe though as he actually looks his age and would look like he can handle himself in a city like Gotham.

Actually, I don't think he's got the build at all. I think Christian Bale had the perfect build for the upscale, yuppie Harvey in American Psycho.

Well keep in mind Joaquin could easily get in shape for the role. And considering we probably won't have shirtless scenes with Harvey, it would not have to be anything substantial.

Definitely could pull off both DA and mobster.

I dunno, he might be a good fit. I've only seen him in Cruel Intentions, but he played a character that was both charming and dark. That seemed to be the qualities Harvey Dent had.

Ive never been a big fan of Pheonix for Dent because of that very reason though I definately wouldnt be upset if he was cast.

There is a huge difference, for me, between someone that is handsome and someone that is sexy.

I can say a man is handsome without being attracted to him.
Like Phillippe, Ive never been attracted to him but I cannot deny he looks like a greek god. Where as, Pheonix I have always been attracted to. He is beyond sexy but he does not look like a greek god, to me.

I would be ok with Dicaprio though I would rather someone with a little more manly look be chosen. Phillippe has a more masculine face than Dicaprio. But I may be prejudice because I have been a Dicaprio fan since "Whats Eating Gilbert Grape" so I might see him as a pretty boy more than others because I have been a fan of him since he was young.
