Mighty Ducks TV Series in the Works

Yeah... I wonder if they reordered the last two episodes.

So on the newest episode one thing I realized is how it kind of made no sense from a team dynamic and story building point.

They begged home girl from the Ducks to join them right? She made like 10 goals against them when they played. This episode where they play the "Second worst team" they don't even show the character once besides at the lunch table. If she is the best player and they wanted her so bad it was weird they wouldn't feature her and she couldn't get a single goal. They were down 0-4 until Bombay brought the dad and Evan went off for 5 goals to win. That just didn't make sense that she made hella goals vs Don't Bothers even if she took the game personal. She should have been able to get some goals in this one. I still enjoyed the show but that part seemed to be odd to me.

Its clear they cycle through which of the kids to focus on.

You do see Sofi's jersey in the Hawks game, as well as seeing 2 players sitting out.

While I agree they are definitely cycling through the group and I am enjoying that, from a game stand point it really didn't make much sense imo.

Yeah I like that they focus on a different character and relationship each episode. Just from the actual game play perspective it didn't make sense that she didn't have the impact expected.

I was curious about that too. You just see her in the background of one shot during the episode, which made no sense. I thought they might have switched the episodes and maybe they did?

Could be that the actor cast for Evan's dad wasn't available or something and they had to shoot it out of order? Just thinking of something

I think one of the things that makes the first Mighty Ducks movie better than 2 and 3 is the movie is as much if not More about Bombay as it is the kids. If this show was more about the kids I probably wouldn't be watching it like I am. It also stood out to me that Sophie(?) was basically ignored in this episode after what happened in the last episode. It seemed like we have a important part of the story where things are on the up swing for the team getting a great player then that character is basically absent the next episode. I get that they want to showcase different characters each episode but in this case a story seems to have been put on hold for at least this episode instead of dealing with her integration to the team.

I'm assuming Joshua Jackson will make an appearance on the last episode, sort of a teaser for Season 2 (if it gets picked up).

Yeah, that was a good episode. Right in the feels. No Josh Jackson actually worked very well for the episode. Because when Fulton quoted him, that hurt. A lot. And I loved seeing them on the ice again. But so many great call backs. Great for the nostalgia.

I do like how Evan handled the offer.

Doubtful, but I do expect a season 2 appearance. They talked about Jackson coming back this season - his schedule just didn't allow it so maybe they will surprise us but I'm not expecting it until a possible season 2.

My "ideal" reboot of the franchise would have included Charlie now coaching the Ducks.

Yep, pretty much everything I hoped it would be. Was nice to see some of the old Ducks back together and seeing where they're at and how Bombay "abandoned" them.

Hopefully some of the other Ducks, especially Charlie, come back next season. Kenan would be fun too.

Been watching the show, but I haven't been enjoying it as much as I hoped. Too much of today's bad comedy and writing adults and kids to speak and act in an unrealistic manner. A common theme in today's shows and movies. The far fetched stories and situations stick out more because I am unable to connect with the kids and adults because neither seem real.

Last episode with the old gang was probably the best one yet. As another poster mentioned, I think the ideal situation would have been Charlie being the new coach of the Ducks and or Don't Bothers (awful awful name). It would have tied nicely with the original movies as he was a natural leader and coach. Obviously, getting Joshua Jackson to commit to that probably would have been tough.

Damn I couldn't stop smiling that whole episode. Seeing the old Ducks had me in my feels.

So weird to see Emilio Estevez during a series since he just writes/directs every 7 or 8 years now.

I really liked that episode, the old Ducks still look recognizable. Glad they made an appearance and took over that event, the boss is really good at being annoying.

One joke had me really laugh out loud this episode, when Evan was talking about how they need 9 more wins to get to state. The one kid was like "Buddy if you want 9 more wins you better watch this tape 9 more times" lol something about the delivery was great.

If the show is doing well and gets multiple seasons they will for sure have the ability to get more originals. If Weiss life didn't have so many rough patches recently you know Goldberg would have been in this episode.

Weiss seems to be turning things around, so fingers crossed.

I know I'm just going to freak out whenever Charlie does return.

Spirit of the Ducks was a great episode and really was a nostalgic tribute to the films. Man I hope we get Charlie in the second season.

Just got around to watching the most recent episode and I loved the old Ducks reunion. It was nice to see some of the old gang again and some of the callbacks to the original movie like Fulton breaking Bombay’s car window, the limo driving around on the ice, and Banks saying the “cake eater” line

Connie looks beautiful, Wu still has the moves, and Averman is still a dork lol

You really felt for Gordon when he didn’t get the invite to the gala and what Charlie said about him. But it’s good to know Charlie is still out there and I am sure we will get an awesome Gordon & Charlie reunion down the line

Definitely the best episode of the season so far and also liked the subplot with Evan struggling to decide between the Ducks and Don’t Bothers

The pond episode was nice, but Sam barely got any actual time in what was suppose to be his episode. They didn't really notice he was upset.

I guess the pretty boy kid is next to get focus.

3 episodes left so hopefully they don't feel too rushed, they have a couple of wins and they haven't done the playoffs. I am expecting a montage because Evan mentioned 9 more wins in the last episode.

Part of me wonders if they are saving that for a potential season 2. Because there really isn't much time left.

Sofi going suddenly from a righty to a leftie on her second goal was something.

I liked this episode, had a feeling they would do a montage. Is States only 2 teams so no real playoffs?

I liked Bombay working with Logan, so everyone of the mains seemed to get their episode. I don't expect the two extras that joined mid season to get a special episode.

Sofi's parents basically did a number on moms though. Yikes
