Mighty Muggs

Yeah, sadly. It looks like DC will be stuck with crappy Mattel forever. Well besides the Movie Masters line & the new ML wannabe DC line. (Which looks cool, but it's still a ML wannabe)

The joke is that the wannabe line is currently a better product than Marvel Legends have been in years.

Have they made a Dr. Strange one yet?

Not yet but I'm sure they will. They've been really cool about picking out characters from all over the universe. I know one of the next Marvel sets is an X-Men set with Cyclops, Phoenix, Sabretooth and Wolverine without his costume on (he has a sleeveless white shirt, slacks and a brown fedora).

Dude, how much of a wannabe can you be, when your product is far far far superior in quality and style?

DCUC BLOWS ML out of the water, ML isn't fit to lick the boots of DCUC.

They wish they had such quality sculpting. Such quality art. These figures are lightyears ahead of what Hasbro has been trying to push on us. I stopped buying figures after ToyBiz lost the license but with Mattel I've jumped back in because of the sheer quality they are offering.

(Not to say it's not without it's faults, because we both know DCUC has them, and they are many. For me though, the good far out weighs the bad.)

i wouldn't be that harsh dude.. i have a few dcuc figs and there about the same quality as probably about half my hasbro legends. The biggest and only real difference being that DCUC has better pain applications. There sculpting is the same (if you don't believe me actually view marvel legends sculpts prior to the molds/paint being applied, many in which are sculpted by the same sculpting companies. Both suffer from articulation imo. But the hasbro ones that have classic Toybiz articulation outshine the articulation on the DCUC figs hands down. There both equal right now in my eyes, one just has better paint apps. :o

I apologize for the harshness, I really shouldn't post before eating breakfast. :I

See, I understand what you are saying, but for me, the articulation is not as important as the appearance of the figure. the Quality of the DCUC figures to me just strongly outshines the current ML.

Toybiz stuff, yeah I'd say they are equal, but the current stuff for me I can't stomach. The plastic looks cheap, the sculpts just don't look good to me, the bodies are too skinny, too insubstantial on some of the characters. The joints look awkward. I'm an aesthetics kind of guy, I take 'em out of the package, stand them up, and leave them there. I could understand the need for all the crazy articulation if you were posing Spider-Man or something, but for my Captain Marvel or Hawkman or someone like that, fists on the hips stance works just fine. Overall, I just don't much care for the current generation ML's. I realize it's just my opinion, but there it is. :woot:

the only quality though, is that of the paint. Which i agree looks better (mostly just due to the faces) and is on par with toybiz's apps. The plastic is cheap with both to be honest. Hell Harley-Quinn has some of the lightest and cheapest plastic out of any of them, and she's not too skinny? come one. you're just nit picking at things that you don't even realize are the same with both. Now i do however wish Hasbro stayed consistent with there articulation, characters like savage she-hulk, adam warlock, eand anyone with a "hasbro elbow joint" do look awkward. But over all (and i collect stuff from both lines, and have been collecting ML's since before they were marvel legends.. can see differences in everything. Both have good qualities the other lines don't and in the grand scheme of things there very much equal. Mattel is just using better paint aps right now then Hasbro's "plasticy" paint apps, that's the largest difference.

There's like 9 threads about Marvel Legends! Why must it take over the Mighty Muggs as well?! :oldrazz:

Bah, I refuse to submit, even in the face of common sense and greater experience! I am fan boi, here me rage!!!!! :cwink:

(You might have a point, to be honest, I'm not a hard-core collector, I only buy the figs of the characters I like, so I can almost guarantee you know more about this than I do. )

Picked up Hoth Han Solo today. I also have Storm Shadow and Cobra Commander. I can't wait for Destro to come out

I got Duke and Cobra Commander for my birthday. So now, of course, I must collect the rest of the G.I. Joe Muggs. :whatever:

And my fiance picked up the Target-exclusive Teebo. I think the only Target exclusive we're missing is the Gammorean Guard.

Target's been steadily keeping Muggs on sale for $8.99. It's awesome. I'm just running out of room for the suckers.

the target near me sucks, i haven't seen exclusives there. I lucked out and got galactus and silver surfer for christmas. on the galactus box, they show a punisher mugg. haven't seen him yet

He is a Toys 'R' Us exclusive.

Well the only decent thing Hasbro currently makes are Muggs.

The SW & Joe lines have been great for the past couple years. The last two waves of Indy (LC & TOD) were also really great. Hasbro is a on-again, off-again company. Plus, from what I've heard the 3 3/4" Marvel line is also supposed to be really good.

I just think Hasbro isn't used to 6" & far more comfortable in 3 3/4".

And here's one I made for a friend

OooOoohh!
You should do a bunch of Invincible ones. The Immortal and Allen the Alien deserve nothing less! :woot:

Ahhh. Picked up the Snowtrooper, C-3PO, Darth Revan and Jigsaw on Saturday. Talk about score! I saw the Punisher as well. Didn't see any interest since they had about 20 of him at TRU and only 1 Jigsaw.

I still have to get the Punisher and Jigsaw. I'm kicking myself for not ordering that Previews Exclusive Ackbar from my shop but I'm sure I can find it online somewhere.

Yeah. I really want to get that Ackbar. I didnt know he was comi ng out until too late. Looks like I'll be hitting up ebay for that one!

I picked up a Spidey today at a Target by my school. It was the last one left, so I decided to grab it.

I can't find any others aside from the Thing and Iron Man. I'm not that big on Iron Man, and I'd get the Thing if I could guarantee that I'd be able to get the rest of the FF.

I really want venom. Can't find him in stores though.:csad:
