Ock exits.

You think Ock would be stupid enough not to consider that Peter could simply seek Police protection, or go into hiding, or leave the city because of a threat like that on his life?? Threatening him is no guarantee he'll obey.

Ock needed insurance to make sure Peter would obey. Taking a loved one is the simplest and most effective way.

I remember that some time ago, I think it was Retroman that said, that there was a scene when Mj was fighting with Peter and enter ina cab, just to realize that Eddie was already on the cab, that goes off right when she enters.
So this is it.

I remember this too. However if this is true, wouldn't Peter have to know that Eddie already has the symbiote to know that there is any real danger? I mean Venom doesn't (or shouldn't) set off his Spidey sense.

So does he meet Venom before the construction site battle? Somehow I doubt it but how else would he know.

brilliant post. peter would have no choice but to go fight ock to save mj. peter could simply backdown from the fight, but with mj's life at stake peter has to fight.

It's simple. Raimi sacrificed logic for dramatic effect. It would have been just as good if Ock smashed thru the window of the cafe with his tentacles.

Well yea, the car going through the window was for effect, but isnt really a smart move. Doc Ock doesnt know Peter is Spidey, so why would he chuck a freaking car at someone who he thinks is a normal person that couldnt possibly dodge it. But whatever its just little nitpicking.
