More Script Problems?

I like Martin Campbell. If the dude is taking issue that Martin doesn't have the consistent resume, he must...be Martin Campbell himself!

I just reread what I wrote! What did I just say?

I meant that the poster who defended Martin Campbell must be a hardcore fan, or better yet, a relative of Campbell. Or Campbell himself!

I get it. I'm on cold/flu drugs. I don't really know what the hell is going on.

Whatever, "dude." All I can say is, if Campbell didn't have a consistently strong resume, there's no way that major studios would keep giving him the keys to big budget potential blockbusters...

Oh, and if Campbell didn't do Green Lantern, I think there's a very good chance you could have been in this thread discussing how he would best correct supposed "third act problems" for Superman...

:word:

Must I add I actually like Martin Campbell? I'm not trashing him.

People always think that you are trashing a director if you have criticisms.

I also like Martin Campbell, but Martin Scorsese he is not. He's not earned blind trust from me as a director, hence my skepticism on GL after seeing the trailer.

But, that is for the GL forum. Let's get back to Superman...who's director I am far less a fan of!

Big tentpole flicks like this get polished/script-doctored/rewritten/whatever term-you-prefer all the time. It's not an automatic warning flag that the production is in trouble. Standard operating procedure. It's not always going to get reported nor should it.

But in this case, yes there were issues.

Makes sense.

So the problems were in the script itself and not the hiring of Snyder because he wasn't going to care as much? Because that last part never seemed true to me.

i think aronofsky works much slower before going into production, i mean, look how many films he has been attached to direct, from Batman to the fighter etc
