This isn’t a knock on the film but more of a question of the franchise as a whole because I think this is a thing from the games but… has there ever been an action star in real life who mostly (or only) starred in movies that used his own name as a pun in the titles?

I’m just imagining a Van Damme movie called Crime Is Dammed or something lol. (Yes I know Van Damme was in JCVD but that was a movie poking fun at his action star persona).

Oddly enough, that's actually about my expected quality of fight sequences in this movie given the first one.

Seriously. The fight scenes in the first one looked like absolute crap. It was obvious most of the actors either had no martial arts training or the fight choreographer was the director’s nephew or something. I’m guessing it’s the latter because I know Lewis Tan can fight, and he looked the worst of all of them!

LOL I’m aware of Cool Hand Luke. It’s a classic. I just thought it was an odd film to parody using Cage’s name.

Uh, it looks like the director learned nothing from the mistakes of the first movie other than having a more charismatic lead.

I guess at this point the Paul W.S. Anderson film will always remain the best. At least that film knew who to have as the leads and made it an ensemble of the three main characters.

Yeah I still doubt this will be any good but Karl Urban looks like he's having a blast in this.

I wasn't on board with his casting as JC before but it looks like he's easily going to be the best part of this movie and I'm okay with that.
