Just say Kenshi is another one of Scorpion's descendants. I can sort of accept that.

It’s better than what we’ve gotten and feels the least shoe horned way of making him someone from the game. Would be a helluva thing if they could get Keanu as Kenshi. I could buy him as Tan’s father.

Cole Young sticks out in the film sort of like a glitch. Like you know he's there, even though he shouldn't be and has ties to a main Mortal Kombat character.

Wait. Cole Young? A glitch? I can see it now. Rearrange the letters, put E at the start, C at the end, bend the "l," add another "n" to the N, add a line to the O...ERMAC! Seriously, just make him Ermac or someone that doesn't have a past. Might take away from the mystique of Ermac, but I'm stretching here.

Haha yeah, Tan does look like he could be Keanu’s son. I have to admit, I feel a little bit bad for him because in the lead-up to the movie, he really hyped it up and clearly thought it would be his big break. Unfortunately for him, even the people who liked the movie (all six of them) thought his character was the worst part.

To be fair to Tan, Marlon Brando couldn’t have made Cole Young an interesting character with the way he was written. But the jury’s still out on whether Tan is much of an actor. Before this, I had only seen him in Iron Fist and I managed to get through one episode of Wu Assassins. He was fine from what I saw but I don’t know if he has what it takes to really helm a movie.

Having watched Wu Assassins and not Iron Fist, I feel like he's a so-so actor with potential to grow. And he's a great action performer. That's kinda why I wanna see a heel-turn for his character. Because he just doesn't strike me as a leading man type right now. Especially when compared to Ludi Lin who I do feel has it in him to carry this thing. But I feel he could be interesting as a foil to Ludi. If nothing else, it would make his character somewhat interesting to me and give him an actual arc.

I don’t think he was very involved with the first one, aside from the occasional talk with Todd Garner, iirc.

I dont know, it feels imo always a bit awful to kill of such characters after them being the hero etc.
I rather have him just be gone and never talked about again.
Just ignore the character.

That picture of Karl Urban with Ed Boon is awesome. I can DEFINITELY see him as the Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat X/11 there.

Not so much "Hollywood hotshot/wiseguy" Johnny Cage, but more "seasoned, humbled veteran actor" Johnny Cage.

Can't wait to see this at the movies!
